AeroGarden Gourmet Herb Seed Pod Kit (7 pod)

I waited on my review to be sure . Well I bought these weeks ago . Each pod gives different times for them to sprout. I have watched and waited. I have grown these pods before but from the company I bought the AeroGarden from. I’m not sure who these came from but none or the 7 pods have sprouted. Very very disappointed because the first ones I had were great. These must be very old or something. I wanted to edit my review. Although my pods did not grow AEROGARDEN contacted me immediately and even though my order was shipped through Amazon they wanted to replace my pods and even sent an extra container of various leaf lettece . What great costumer service. Hats off to you AEROGARDEN. THESE pods are growing nicely by the way . Thumbs up.

Ordered these wanting fresh herbs for the Indiana winters when produce prices jump. I was pleased with how quickly the sprouted. I did have one pod that failed to sprout, but Miracle-Gro has a guarantee and will replace any pods that fail to sprout. I have already begun using my fresh basil and the plant isn't even full grown yet. The directions were a little difficult to understand at first as far as pruning the plant, but I was able to figure out what they meant. The pods don't snap in quite like I felt the should, but it doesn't affect anything so it must be correct, only mentioning that in case anyone else encounters it. Overall easy and kind of mistake proof. Can't wait to try the tomatoes, I may need a bigger garden!!

My herb garden is growing well and I would have rated this product 5 stars, but I don't like the combination of herbs it provides. Miracle-Gro used to have an Italian Herb set, but they don't make it anymore. I only wish this set came with Oregano instead of Chives and Italian Parsley instead of Cilantro (I hate Cilantro). After I started the herb garden, the Cilantro didn't grow (thank goodness) and the Chives didn't grow. I called Aerogrow and told them the Cilantro and Chives did not grow and they said no problem, we'll send replacements free of charge. I then asked for Oregano and Italian Parsley instead of the Cilantro and Chives, and they said no problem. I got the herb replacements in the mail within a few days and I'm happy as a clam with my Italian Herb garden. I use the Oregano in my homemade spaghetti sauce and Greek salad dressing and use the Basil and Parsley in spaghetti sauce. I also use the Mint and Dill in my homemade Greek salad dressing. This is a good deal considering if you purchase this set on the Aerogarden website, they will charge $5.95 for shipping and handling.

You get a ton of substrate and it works well

Aero claims to have a full guarantee on pods. This particular set is now growing with no problem in my 'garden' however, I've had aerogardens for years now and have had luck off and on. I have called for replacements and it has been done but recently when I called I was told, I've gotten too many replacements and there must be something wrong with my garden. There is nothing wrong with the garden. I had a full 'crop' for months which eventually died off. I tried to replace with pods that never came up, the customer service agent told me not to replant the newer pods (this particular set) and was 'getting back to me', she never did. Tired of this new type of customer service, I have now planted the newer pods I had recently purchased, and voila they are all up so it obviously IS the pods I had and not the garden as this is two successful crops, before and after the faulty pods. I offered to send back the ones that were not growing, but no one has taken me up on that they just believe what they believe. So now while I have a full garden, and one that is not, I am again buying seeds because they are on sale and if the time it takes for this garden to grown means the new seeds I am buying today do not come up, I know I will again be questioned. If they are guaranteed, they should be guaranteed so I've gone from a proponent to someone who no longer recommends this or tells others to proceed with caution as they don't necessarily stand by the pods as they say they do.I actually was ordering the seeds from their site tonight but after writing the review, decided not to for now. In order to take advantage of the sale price, I'd have to order 3 sets which means again, I'll have older pods by the time I want to grow them and I am convinced that is the problem with the pods. Perhaps the seeds are bad, but it has happened too many times so I think it is best to just buy as one needs to use them rather than getting enchanted with 'saving money' only to throw it away when the seeds do not grow and they do not stand by their guarantee.

I had previously grown a salad greens kit with no problems, and decided to try an herb kit. 4 of the 7 pods never even germinated. Of the three that grew, 2 had labels with just the name typed on. When they grew enough to have mature leaves, they did NOT look anything like images of that plant online. I don't know what they were. The only one that grew and I used was Dill, and it quickly outgrew the AeroGarden. I tried replanting it, but Dill doesn't seem to transplant well and it died.I think *for me* the purchase of an AeroGarden was a waste of money.

Love growing plants

I received these and had some issues with some plants not growing. Customer service was wonderful, they asked series of questions and re-sent me items that did not grow. They also gave me information on what to do when the mold forms on the tops. the first time i used them i covered the tops with the plastic dome, which they said is normal and can be cleaned with a q-tip. the second time i actually took it out from the plastic and planted with without the dome. the plants grow fine and are still alive. the nutrient food was easy to use with a cap for measuring.

This is an easy to grow and extremely gorgeous addition to any living space. I have purchased this pod kit twice for my AeroGarden container. The seeds germinate well before the time frame indicated on the top of each pod and grow extremely quickly. I found that it was necessary to ensure the water was added on a very regular basis as the plants consume copious amounts once they get larger. The container becomes very lush and absolutely gorgeous. Many friends commented on my amazing talent and green thumb till I suggested they get one of their own! This is a beautiful and very practical purchase. As the plants grow, ther require frequent pruning to keep them looking lush and green. I freeze my cuttings to ensure I always have a fresh supply for cooking. I purchase this kit twice yearly to ensure the container is always lush and beautiful! My only concern is that the dill plant turns to seed and becomes quite woody after a couple of months. It would be great to be able to choose the plants one purchases as I would definitely get two dill each time.The AoroGarden makes an amazing and treasured gift. This is how I got mine and now will never be without it!I will be purchasing this for several individuals who have been admiring mine.

The thyme bod has not grown after 4 weeks and it is suppose to sprouts within 14 days. Soil in pod is moist and nothing grew. I was excited about this set because of the variety of herbs. However, the set that I received originally with the Aerogarden unit was much better. I find that these pod are taken a lot longer to grow. The original Genovese Basil grew so fast during my first harvest - this time it grew in second last place - slowest with the exception of the thyme not growing at all. Disappointed.

Much better than the seed pod kit I got with my Aerogarden. This one is probably more fresh, and it came with Thyme instead of Cilantro (the one I got with the Aerogarden had Cilantro). This is fine because my boyfriend won't eat cilantro so I get more use out of the thyme. All plants are growing beautifully. I use the herbs all the time in my cooking and give clippings to friends and family.

First of all, I bought two kits. 7-pods each: one gourmet and one Italian. They each arrived with the wrong contents. Missing 1 chives, 1 basil.Second, the chives simply didn't grow; nor did the parsley; and the 2nd of my two mints didn't grow either. It's too late to request a refund because I started a second round of pods after the refund date.Is it my aerogarden? It shouldn't be the bulbs (both new) or the pump (also new) or the filter (just replaced). Who knows! But I can see that it is best to grow all tall & medium height herbs together rather than mixing: I put tall at the back middle, medium at the sides and short at front (it was the side and front herbs that failed, yet tall basil grew strong and fast compared to the rest).

The seeds germinate quickly and provide a great fresh herb selection in a few weeks. I have used these pods a few times and always get good results. Makes fresh herbs available in winter
