It would drop to 34-35 degrees at night and it was very comfortable. The one night it did drop to 29-30 ...
WARMTH: Kept us warm while camping in freezing temperatures. Well, let me preface that by saying for a person from Southern California, any temperature that is below 40 is considered freezing to me. It would drop to 34-35 degrees at night and it was very comfortable. The one night it did drop to 29-30 (but no snow), I was shivering and added a layer. But my son and husband who sleep hot had no issues staying warm.COMFORT: Originally intended for my husband and myself, but our then 10 month old (now year old) wanted to sleep with Mommy. Fortunately, we brought plenty of sleeping bags and my hubby slept in his Teton snuggled up with our fur babies. We switched back and forth each night and honestly this bag isn't as comfortable as others we have slept in. His Teton was a cloud compared to this in regards to softness but the warmth was about the same. We had plenty of layers between the tent floor and the bag to make it more soft. It wasn't uncomfortable, just not as plush as the higher end sleeping bags we are used to. We will definitely use it again because we liked having our son near us and making sure he wouldn't kick off the covers.DISLIKES: I'm not a "glamper" by any means but I do like to keep things as tidy as possible inside the tent. If it is important to you, its just a warning that the cover of this sleeping bag was a magnet for every dog hair, every leaf, every piece of lint you could imagine. Its not that big of a deal to just roller off, but with normal sleeping bags its just brushed off. Just an extra step I did every morning. One last problem is that it does take forever to dry. There was a water bottle that was leaking slightly and it left about a palm sized water spot on the top of the sleeping bag. It took all day for that spot to dry (even with a warm afternoon), so I can't even imagine trying to wash and dry this thing. Will deal with that when the time comes but will it will definitely need to be out hanging on a very hot and long day.

Great bag, quesionable storage
I ordered the canvas version which looks super warm. Upon arrival I noticed the bag had a lot of extra fluff, lint or what have you. As it is bulky, I will have to get it commercially cleaned. No holes or anything just covered in lint and not a big thing just more of a FYI.The canvas shell isnt uncomfortable at all and the Velcro closures to protect the zippers will hold up well. I don't see any reason the closures would rip. As this is a large bag, I expected it to be heavy which it isn't for the size. the flannel lining is soft as well and will make for many a comfortably warm camping nights. My one complaint is the storage/compression bag. Clips would have worked better, at least on two of the straps, to aid in taking the compression top off and on. Smashing that large bag into the storage bag prior to removing it in addition to storing it is going to be rough on the storage bag to say the least. The storage bag isn't rip-stop material either which is concerning (at least it doesn't appear to be). So be careful with how you pack and unpack it. I wouldn't want a disgruntled teen to pack that monster in a hurry or you'll end up securing it with your hiking belt.Update: just spent a couple nights truck camping with this bag and let me say that it keeps you warm! Admittedly the nights only got down to a low 50 degrees but wow. Not a complaint. Super comfortable too. Love the quality flannel lining. Zippers were tricky but didn't bite the fabric. I'm 5'2" so shimmying to the bottom to take care of them made it tricky. Noticed two drawstring pulls around the top of the bag to pull it in, great idea that I didn't see upon first inspection. Let you know how those work when it's colder!Safe to say, still love the bag, storage bag sucks but I made adjustments with replacement straps... So it's easier to stuff on the camp site. Thanks again!

the warmth level of this sleeping bag held my girlfriend's happiness and, therefore
I bought this sleeping bag for a December camping trip for my girlfriend and I. It was to be my first under-the-stars camping trip and a surprise trip for my girlfriend. As such, the warmth level of this sleeping bag held my girlfriend's happiness and, therefore, my prospective future happiness in it's hands. While I'm an inexperienced outdoorsman, I am an experienced online shopper. As such, I recognize and value the collective opinions of my fellow cohorts.Albeit in a torn and tantered box, the sleeping bag arrived as promised. The storage bag is large enough to repackage the bag after use and stores it effectively.Upon a very late arrival at the camping site, I quickly setup the padding and sleeping bag in the back of my pickup truck. My girlfriend, who was not actually speaking with me yet, was in the truck putting on every pair of pants and shirt she brought. She was not nearly as happy about our mid-December surprise camping trip as I was. She silently exited the truck and maneuvered herself through the paltry 23*F temperature and into the sleepbag with ninja-like quietness. This is when the extra size of the sleeping bag became apparent to me -- there is DEFINITELY room for two people...and a 55 lb dog between us.With the superior timing of a stereo-typical male, I enlightened my girlfriend on the sleeping bag's best features. Specifically, the zippers on each side of the sleeping bag could be opened when she got hot. At the same time, I make a Grammy award winning production of shedding my clothes due to how hot I was.So, in conclusion, we are still a couple! The sleeping bag kept us both very comfortable for two nights. The canvas outer layer was unscathed by the dogs nails. I give this sleeping bag major props and two thumbs up. It will be invited to our future wedding.Tip: don't surprise your girlfriend with a mid-December camping trip when she is expecting a romantic get-a-way.
