Way less dust, but more ammonia smell
I really want to love this litter, and am going to keep trying to make it work. It cuts down on litter dust substantially, and has thus cut down on my cleaning by at least 50%, which is amazing. The downsides - even though the smell is minimal, having the urine absorb into the little stones does still maintain some degree of an odor. I've been able to scoop the obviously soiled sections out with a regular scoop but am probably wasting more product this way, but it seems to be working. To cut down on odor, what's working best for me is one regular litter box with clay absorbable litter, and one box of skoon for my multi-cat household, and this has been the best balance of reduced cleaning/manageable odor that I've found.

Everything You Need & Need to Know About This Amazing Cat Litter
This stuff is amazing! Our grandkitty rolls in any other litter making a mess of herself and the area around the boxâŠbut not this. Solids are easily removed & flushed (recommend using 1 whole bag of product and scooping at least once daily). For best results the litter should be stirred well and all the way to the bottom daily as well.Urine doesnât clump, it soaks into this larger pebble style litter, but if your cat goes at the edges of the box especially, stirring will ensure absorption and prevent ammonia building up too quickly. One bag when used/cleaned as mentioned will easily last any single cat an entire month or two depending how faithful you are about scooping/flushing solids and good stirring. It is not as dust free as it claims when pouring a new bag, but normal cat use and cleaning doesnât create much dust. Tracking is extremely minimal and very easy to clean! When I see a pebble or two outside the box I just pick them up by hand and toss them back in the box or in the compost bin. Iâm also trying to find ways to repurpose the used litter in my yard since it is a natural, biodegradable material. Still working out those details. Will update as I discover more. There is zero odor from the litter and once a fresh poop is scooped and flushedâŠzero odor again. No annoying perfumes or dyes.Iâm all about saving money, but I also believe in getting good value for the money. I have tried nearly every cat litter on the market and this one is by far the best solution to our cats issues. If you prefer to not look at or touch your box for weeks on end it may not be for you. This is THE litter for folks who hate litter boxes but if they have one they keep it clean. For our standards of cleanliness, ease of use, environmental responsibility, and asthma friendliness (even if I breath a little dust at first when dumping a bag)âŠSkoon is topsâŠpaws down! :)

Very Disappointed
I have 2 cats and 2 boxes and have tried various types of litter to see what would work best for us. My cats arenât picky so I have been able to trial thingâs easily. Iâve tried clay clumping, non clumping, pine pellets, and crystals. Over the course of my trials I realized that clay non clumping is by far the easiest to clean and maintain. There was just one problem. The lightweight of the non clumping clay allowed my cats to kick copious amounts of litter out of the box leaving me to vacuum it all up regularly. So I wanted to try a non clumping litter that was a bit heavier weight to see if they would kick less out. While the skoon litter is lightweight, it is bulkier than fresh step non clumping, so they did indeed kick less litter out of the box. Unfortunately thatâs really the only positive thing I can say about this litter and Iâm really bummed because this litter really appealed to me and I really wanted to like it. Here are my complaints:1) The price is ridiculous for such small bags of litter. There is no way I wanted to keep spending this kind of money every time I needed more litter. We have 2 large boxes as one of our cats is very big and he likes to dig so we end up going through massive amounts of litter as part of the box maintenance. 3 quarters of one bag is used up for one box leaving only a half a bag left, meaning I would have to spend an additional $55 to get more bags of litter when I came time to replace it. By contrast, an over 30lb bag of fresh step is only around $20. The economy sucks so I obviously need to go with the more affordable option.2) The claims on the package are false. They say low dust, well this is by far the DUSTIEST litter I have ever used. Dusty to the point I had to stop and leave the room because I didnât want to breathe it all in. The dust coated areas around the box and the cats who began smelling like dusty litter.3) They say âbest odor controlâ, well in my experience there is zero odor control with this litter. The smell of feces linger and the urine sitting in the bottom of the box also makes the room smell like cat pee. The smell was so awful I gave up after a week and a half. $55 down the drain. I donât want my house smelling like pee and poo. To be fair I did not use their scented options so it is possible that the scented versions prevent this issue. However you canât easily get more than one bag at a time of the scented varieties.4) Super large pebbles make scooping a time consuming pain in the ass. My goal in switching to non clumping litter was to spend less time maintaining the box every day, and also make it easier to empty and change the litter without scrubbing for 30 mins. This litter defeats that purpose however because the pebbles are so large that they donât pass through my dura scoop so I can just get the poop. Instead I get a shovel full of litter which is so incredibly wasteful. So I spent more time trying to carefully pick out the poops with the scoop a tiny bit at a time so I wasnât throwing out all the litter. Huge pain in the ass and more work than I want to have to do every day.5) Not truly ânon clumpingâ the urine sinks to the bottom and you do get clumps of wet litter stuck to the bottom of the box which means you still have to scrape and scrub all of that off when itâs time to change the litter. Completely contradicts the reason I wanted non clumping in the first place. So all in all I am very bummed and disappointed in this product. For such an expensive litter I expected much more, especially since this is likely the most expensive litter on the market. For the price I shouldnât have had the issues I had. So I have since gone back to the tried and true fresh step non clumping with febreeze. Much cheaper, smells good, easy to clean, more litter for your dollar, and much much less dusty. Yes the cats do kick more of the litter out, but I would rather vacuum and have litter that I know works, than spend hundreds of dollars on expensive, stinky, dusty litter that creates more work for me.
