150 pounds...but worth it
Well..150 for the 12 inches. Sharp as hell, strong, beautiful. The handle is smaller than I expected, and the knife is lighter too, I'm not a massive fan of the cheap plastic pin in the saya to keep it in place but still I think this is a 5 star knife. It cuts through things like butter and hey that's what we want a knife for I guess.

Its ok
I'm a professional cook. I was recommended this line of products.. there ok. I own the 12" shogan Gyuto and the 10in shogun scimitar. There pretty knives!. If you work in a kitchen sometimes a pretty knife attracts a lot of unwanted attention. IDK, if that's your thing cool, but I'm at work to work not ego flex. The feel; its hard on your hands after 5-8 hours of use. If you work wet, cooks know what I'm taking about, its a little unwieldy, especially around the top of the handle. Also, think about how your grip is and your style of cutting. This knife is odd, its sweet spot is more forward that what would be expected form a Gyuto. The handle its nice, i like the material used and the overall shape but I had a hard time with it after 8 hours of production. The steal; yea IDK what there steal formula is but its lite, flexible, and softer than advertised. Now that's great for someone who has to break down a lot of meat quickly. If your working with meat, you want a softer steal and i found a ceramic honing rod to work best with these knives. I but my Gyuto on my 3000 grit Naniwa stone and the steal just melted off. if your not proficient with wet stones i really don't recommend using it on these knives.Yea there ok.. home use for sure, a great show set. but for professional use it really depends on your style. if you look at these knives as "Japanese Style" gyuto for example there great slicers but wont hold an edge like other Japanese knives in this price point. I'd shoot it down against my Yoshihiro or my Torijo any day.

Nice knife for home but......
I really liked the look and the actual metal. However, as a professional use where it is being used all day, it had some drawbacks. I found that the handle was a bit small in length and that the balance was not in the least optimal. There was too much front weight and it is already a heavy knife. Too bad, I would have liked to work with it. This is a review fow the 12 inch knife, perhaps the shorter knives do not have the balance problem.

High quality steel.
Very maneuverable with just enough mass. Very sharp and when honed with the correct whetstone it is a 12" straight razor. This is the ruler of my kitchen. None can defy it.Overall workmanship is excellent, love it.Cheers.
