Replacement switch for Ryobi BT3000 Table Saw
This switch worked perfectly, it was reasonably easy to install, and it costs less than $10! What's not to like?I have an original Ryobi BT3000 table saw from 1992, the 13 amp model. On the whole, the saw has performed admirably, so when the On/Off switch failed, I was disheartened when I found there is no direct replacement switch available, neither from Ryobi, nor from aftermarket suppliers. When I took the original switch apart, I saw why there is no direct replacement, the original switch was junk!Anyway, I bought this switch and took on the project of replacing the original switch with this one. It turned out to be a straightforward replacement.Removal of the Old Switch:After unplugging the saw, address the old switch from the saw interior. Pull off the wiring connections from the switch as they are equipped with quick disconnectors. Remove the 4 switch case screws and disassemble the switch sufficiently to remove the switch body. The old switch is not held in place with screws, it pops out of the front of the saw case, leaving a rectangular opening.Mounting the New Switch:The new switch is surface mounted to the front of the saw(see picture #1). The switch is just a bit too small to cover the entire cutout left by the original switch, but this is not noticeable (if the gap bothers you, duct tape is about the same color). The new switch requires four #8 X 3/4" round head machine screws, plus oversized and #8 flat washers, plus #8 split washes, plus #8 nuts for proper mounting.See picture #2 for the back side of the switch as mounted through the saw case. The cutout is a bit too large to be able to drill new holes at all four screw points. Rather, I used oversized flat washers, #8 flat washers, #8 split washers, and #8 nuts to lock the bottom of the switch in place using the shoulders of the cutout.I drilled holes through the saw case for the top screws, then anchored the switch in place with screws through the drilled holes, flat washers, split washers, and nuts. All in all, not the prettiest installation ever, but it did accomplish the installation with the minimum alterations to the saw case.Wiring:The saw wiring is just two wires with 14 AWG Female Quick Disconnects. This switch is a DPST switch offering four 14 AWG Male Quick Disconnects (no screw terminals). The switch connects 1-->2 (left side) and 4-->5 (right side) when the switch is engaged. I used the left side connections and ignored the right side ones. All in all, the job took about an hour to accomplish, once I disassembled the saw and vacuumed out all the sawdust. Would I buy this switch again? I would, though considering how long the last switch lasted, I bet this switch would be obsolete by the time it fails, too.

Power switch works and fits well.
My old table saw was not plugged into a proper extension cord so the power switch turned off with a burning smell. I had to purchase another one and was sent this item by a friend. I installed it quickly and the saw turned on immediately. Make sure it fits you table saw, you can’t just buy one and hope for the best.

Installed on Ryobi BT3000 Table Saw
Since the power switch of the Ryobi BT3000 table is discontinued there were few choices to replace the current switch which is difficult to operate. This can be used on either a 120V or a 240V machine and I discovered with a multimeter continuity test that the switching is between the top and bottom spades and either the left pair or the right is useable for my 120V machine. I made two sheet metal pieces 2.25"x3.25" one for outside and one for the inside to fully cover the rectangular opening where the original switch was located. Each needed a rectangular cutout to accommodate the switching housing protruding from the back of the new switch. Once the cutout was made holes were drilled for (4) #8 machine screws used to mount the new switch. Not being equipped with fancy sheet metal stuff making the covers and mounting the switch was a grizzly bear involving real sweat and just a little real blood. Relieving the four corners of the hole in the saw table with a round file will help when installing the screws since the screws will just barely fit in the saw table opening. WARNING: If you use this switch, do NOT take apart the module containing the wiring and receptacle, that too is a bear to reassemble. Simply take apart the switch box and remove the spade connectors from the underside of the actual switch of the old unit, then slide them onto the male spades of a upper and lower pair of the new switch.

Perfect replacement switch
I was given a Ryobi band saw 2 years ago as a gift. I didn't need to use it for 2 years. First time I went to use it I discovered the switch was broken. I was happy to find this available on Amazon.

Excellent service
This is exactly what I was looking for... actually what was sent to me was much more than expected. I thought I was ordering just a yellow key for my tablesaw... but instead, I received not only the yellow key. But also the whole power switch. And that was totally awesome.
