Japan carbonate gas Deluxe soda Siphon

With the non-English instructions, it can be a little intimidating--thank you to other reviewers that provided details on usage. It works like a charm, and we've been enjoying our own sodas on a regular basis since it arrived. It's solid, heavy, and looks great. As others have mentioned, it's not as fizzy as cans/bottles of of soda, but it does provide a good bite for topping off a cocktail or creating your own full-glass soft drink. It also remains fizzy until the bottle's empty, unlike an open bottle of seltzer/club.

This is a very well made siphon, solid stainless steel and brass, no plastic parts. I use two regular soda chargers per fill for increased carbonation with no problem. This product comes from Japan and the instructions are in Japanese but there are accompanying pictures so it's easy to understand. I have found the best result with the following steps: 1) Refrigerate the siphon before charging (do not freeze) 2) Fill the siphon with refrigerated water to the top and then insert the tube and screw on the top (the tube and top are one piece). The overflow of water caused by insertion of the tube will give you a perfect fill. 3) Insert a charger into the top piece of the siphon and screw on until the charger dispenses. 4) Without removing the charger, shake the siphon vigorously at least 30 seconds. 5) Unscrew the charger and screw on another charger. 6) Before removing the second charger shake the siphon vigorously for 1 minute. 7) Remove the second charger. You will now have two 17-ounce glasses of carbonated water. The water will not be as fizzy as commercial soda but it will have all the flavor of commercial carbonated water. I highly recommend.

No single plastic part, except tubes.Works as expected.Water is not that high carbonated as a soda from a store, but still fizzy to the very last drop of water.Works with Leland cartridges, iSi cartridges does not fit.

i echo the comment it does in fact look even better in real life than in the photo -- this is a substantial, very pretty animal, the sort of thing to win design awards. it's definitely straight from japan - not a lot of english instruction, but jeesh, how much do you need-- it's a soda maker! i've had it 8 months of daily home use and no quality problems at all. i'd be surprised if there is a better made unit on the market.

Received the product yesterday, it looks great. Haven't used it yet, will give another feedback when I do.

Great quality and feel! I had some issues with leaking from the Co2 port, but after removing the valve, and blowing it out with compressed air (there was some debris trapped between the stem and the silicone sleeve - I had the exact same problem with my isi soda siphon) I haven't had any issues since.

I've had two of these units. Both worked for 2-3 months, then started leaking from the CO2 inlet valve. Contact with the seller was unsatisfactory - they offered to sell me a new part for around $65.To seal the leaking I left the CO2 cartridges in place. That worked for a while. But then the cartridge holder became corroded, making it difficult to replace cartridges, and then the device started to leak even with the cartridges left in place.When they worked they were great. But they didn't work for long. Save your money.
