I thought I would love the rain cap accessory for my egg, but it let too much air through when it was supposed to be closed, resulting in burning off way more charcoal rather than snuffing out the fire. This cap seals off the air flow perfectly, and saves more charcoal for the next grilling.

Works great. Notice that my grill wasn’t cooling off as quick as I wanted it too with just the smoke ware chymney. But now it’s really quick.

Although Smokeware products are extremely high quality, this cap did not fit tightly in the Smokeware chimney cap. And it can't be used without the chimney cap it since there is no lip to hold it onto the Egg chimney. (Another reviewer also mentioned it was loose.)

I broke my original cap and discovered this one does a much better job of choking off the fire.

this, coupled with the cap on the Smoke Ware chimney, will "snuff" out a charcoal fire much quicker than the cast iron chimney that comes with the BGE

After breaking my ceramic cap for my Egg, This works great for smothering the fire coals.
