About the Author Sue Hubbard is a freelance art critic, novelist and poet. She is a regular contributor to The Independent and The New Statesman, for which she writes on contemporary art. She has contributed to a wide range of publications including The Independent on Sunday, Art Review, Contemporary, Tate, Third Text and RA. She has also written catalogue essays on many leading artists. Twice winner of the London Writers competition she was the Poetry Society's first-ever Public Art Poet and created a number of site-specific poems as part of a visual arts project in Birmingham's jewellery quarter. She is also a novelist and writer of short stories. Depth of Field, her first novel, was published in 2000 and was described as a 'remarkable first novel' by John Berger, winner of the 1972 Booker Prize.
