uxcell 3.5 mm Audio Jack Connector PCB Mount Female Socket 4 Pin PJ-320A 20pcs

I replaced a 2.5mm aux jack on my Bose Quietcomfort 45 (QC45) headphones. I did this so it will be compatible with standard auxiliary audio products. It probably wasn't worth it over just using Bluetooth, but I wanted to see if I could, and it's the principle of having a good product. :)The jacks are good quality. I broke several jacks in the process, but that was my fault trying to force them into a very tight fit. It's a good thing this is a 10 pack!

Great for camera trigger connectors.(I didn't use them for audio.)I didn't find an available PCB pattern, but after creating one, they work well.

Audio/ phone/computer devices have changed over time with changes to the 3.5 mm audio plugs following along. Originally, we had only monoaural sound so the plug only had a tip and sleeve configuration. then stereo sound added a "ring" so the 3.5 mm plug could handle 3 electric lines, and with phone and computers, a microphone was added so an additional "ring" was added to the 3.5 mm jack - required for earphones equipped for stereo and with microphone added. This jack handles this latest more complex version of the 3.5 mm plug and selection of the right pin on the jack also allows you to use it for the previous changes /versions of audio equipment. The only thing it lacks for project builders is the switching: often when not using earphones, the audio is sent to a speaker, but when the earphone plug is inserted , some jacks have built in switch to interrupt the signal to the speakers at the same time, the sound signal is being diverted to earphones. This is only downside, if this is a feature you are looking for.

This PJ-320A, along with 3.5mm plug male to RCA female adaptor, helps run a continuity test for the 4-cord (4-pole) headphone with mike a bit easier.

If you think you got some bad pieces.... make sure you are not trying to insert the plug into the wrong side! You can insert from both sides but only the correct direction will seat the plug correctly. So that's good.

These work fine but need a custom drilled PCB.If you're building on generic drilled pcbs nothing lines up and you have to cut the two locator pins off the bottom. I'll be looking for something else for the next build.

Several of them did not make contact and thrown out. I would not buy again.
