Quayside Publishing Book, Assorted

I love art but never did a ton at home as a kid. When I ordered this book, I had basically no clue how to do anything of what she wrote about (including basic skills) and all the specific tips on exactly what to buy and how to execute different techniques were a lifesaver. My almost 3 yr old son and I have been working on our own take of the elephant project all summer and have been having so much fun. I have him make the base of paper for the collage and we both have been painting and cutting paper together. We've just been doing it on the back of a cardboard box thanks to the gesso. We're still far from pros but love what we've been able to do thanks to this book!

Has a lot of great ideas.

Love, love, love this book. The book may be intended for kids, but this adult thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Lots of art tips and inspiration.

I bought this book 5 years ago when I homeschooled my then 10 and 14 yo. We are a creative family so I didn’t want a cookie cutter craft book. This is, by far, the best children’s art book that I’ve come across, and I’ve come across a lot. There is the perfect mix of detailed instruction, materials list and technique description, but so so much opportunity with the projects for kids and adults to explore their own voice. We each, including myself, made the coolest art books on cardboard with several of the projects and I still have several more as art installations on my walls. This book is not for the glue stick/construction paper crafters.

Loved it - Artrageous is a great crafting book for all ages. My daughter and I have been interested in mixed media techniques, and since we're beginners, this book was the perfect choice. The project ideas are very colorful, extra creative and each includes a supply list with easy to follow instructions. My (teenage) daughter and I loved that Jennifer walks you through each project with lots and lots of photos ... and extra "Artist's tips." If you're like me, and like to see samples of each step of a project - then this book is for you. Jennifer really helps visualize the whole process from beginning to end. I would recommend this book to others as a great source for unique mixed media ideas.

We have had the great fortune of participating in Jennifer McCully's ARTAGEOUS art camps and many of these projects are displayed in our home. Her visually delightful designs are artfully presented in the book, along with very easy to understand instructions and suggestions. You can see the template she provides and the infinite variations the final project can encompass so each project is as individual as the artist.I love how the whimsy of the book design and illustrations entice the eye, and yet the required direction necessary for a "do it yourself" book is pleasantly complimentary. I would recommend this book to many including the home-school moms and "what do we do now, mom?" families that hope to pry their children away from the ever in-crouching technology.

This book really helps you make your own mark! The whole book is choc full of vibrant, colorful photos. The projects are well planned out and explained. I love doing projects with my 3 children and find it hard to locate ideas that would be good for the range of age from 5 - 13. These projects work well for all those ages and older! The materials are simple to find and most you will have on hand. The techniques are clear and easy to follow. Even when not doing one of the projects, I pull this book out for ideas and inspiration. The colors combinations and multi-media used are fun and unique. I love the "artist tips" along the way! A definite must have for anyone wanting to inspire their creativity and make some joyful, meaningful art.\!

This is such a great book with vibrant pictures and detailed instructions. I can see myself attempting the various projects with my daughter. She loves art and is very excited to make her first project from this book.
