Louis Comfort Tiffany: Masterworks

Stunning coffee table book! I bought it for image references, it does not disappoint!It's a big, chunky, thick, heavy hardbound book packed to overflowing with delicious, juicy, scrumptious eye-candy photos (100% calorie free too). My only issue is, I get totally side tracked looking through it for specific images & end up browsing through it, totally lost, in all the best ways, in the stunning Tiffany glass world...It makes a great art reference book & would be an outstanding gift too!

My book arrived with a different dust cover but it is the same book. Beautiful large photos. The text font is on the small side and rather thin. Perhaps the publisher/designer made that choice so the colorful images would be the dominant item on each page but the text would be easier to read if the font were a bit more bold. Overall I am very pleased with the book. Highly recommended.

There are a wide variety of books on the market about the works of Louis Comfort Tiffany. They vary significantly in quality. This book is at the top of my list of coffee-table books. It is, as other's have noted, unusually large with amazing color photography. Although it is impossible to adequately represent the conveyance of light through colored glass, this comes as close as I have yet seen. In addition, given the recent decline in the interest in Tiffany, the price is extremely reasonable. My very good copy was virtually perfect at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this book to anyone with interest in stained glass, especially in the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany.

First off, it is the best book out there on Tiffany in two categories: beautiful rich full color images on about every page, enchanting writing style but of academic research quality. If you were going to buy only 1 book on the subject, this is it. No other has come close, and I have a fairly extensive library.

Gorgeous, Generously Illustrated, Concise historical information .... The close-up photos of details will make you salivate. So many books show Tiffany's work as small as postage stamps...This volume transports your eyes inches away from the artworks to really experience the glass, the leading, and the craftsmanship of the creations. A sensual treat!

There are some great prints of LCT's work in this book I've never seen before. There are also excellent close ups of some of the glass and as a glass maker myself, I loved seeing these. However some of the images, most notably of the individual seasons in the Four Seasons window, now at the Morse Museum, are muddy. I have seen these windows and have an excellent and bright print of them, so I can make an accurate comparison. Plus lots of back story, so that's always fun to read. All in all, worth it despite a few less than best possible images. The cover is cool too, you have to see it in your hand.

I am totally thrilled with this book! It’s beautiful and I can’t wait to read it! The pictures are more incredible than I could have wished for! There is dc a story being told with the pictures and in the captions! Tiffany’s story is fascinating!!

When I opened this book I couldn't believe how gorgeous it was, packed full of pictures on every page with a paragraph of concise information for most of the images.It covers the Tiffany history, windows, lamps & a little about ornaments & jewellery. A large colourful & impressive book to sit & while away the hours.My best purchase for ages.You won't regret buying this stunning book. Good to buy for a gift as well.

I love Tiffany and this book is lovey, very pleased.

A really good quality book at an unbelievably low price.The reproductions are of high quality and just blaze out at you.Each page gives a glory of colour and design.It certainly has that 'wow' factor.I was pleased from the moment I set eyes on it !
