Works Great to keep out the moisture and stinky musty odor!!!
We don't have central air conditioning and in the summer the bathrooms tend to start getting really damp and stinky. I was sick of the musty odor so I ended up ordering these at 2 in the morning after finally having it with the stink. Thankfully Amazon had these for a good price because I didn't want to trek out for them. Price was comparable to other retailers and so I snagged them and felt good knowing I would be able to do something about that stink. Two days later we got these (also ordered another set with a different scent) and these work great! The first day or two I was worried they weren't working since the bathroom still had the musty odor but after a week, the odor is gone, and its way less damp in there. These work great. I had no issues with the smell on these as some of the other reviews mentioned. Personally they smell fine and after a few days you hardly notice them. I think now I just need to remember to spill out the water and change them out every 2 months. I plan on getting the refills to make them an even bigger deal.

We love these! ..Even more with our hack!
These little things have been such a lifesaver in our house. We deal with excess humidity daily, especially during rainy months. We keep them under all of the beds, in the closets, and in the bathroom. Here’s what I’ve learned..- The lavender/vanilla & fresh scented ones smell like they should be used to keep a toilet bowl fresh. It’s not that they stink, because they don’t - I just don’t think I would want a bedroom or my clothes smelling like either of them. The lavender/vanilla has a much stronger scent than the fresh scent, so there’s that.- The scent does not change how well they work. They’re all awesome.- They sell a giant refill container once you use the initial DampRid. Buy that. It saves so much money and refills a ton of the tiny containers.- Keep an eye on them! Depending on how humid the target area is, check on these every week or every other week. Keep something under them to protect your surfaces. I’ve never had one overflow, but the more full they are, the more likely they are to get knocked over.- Speaking of which... Do you have a cat? A child? Are you clumsy? Maybe all of the above? (Like myself) This WILL get knocked over, and it WILL make a mess. A weird, slimy, chemically, wet mess. We have had 4 spill, and each one was a pain in the butt to clean up. However, we kept using them and kept changing up our storage method to try to avoid the spilling. How did we do that, you ask?!For under the beds- Disposable cooking pans WITH lids. I use lasagna pans with lids, because there is absolutely no way for my naughty demon-kitty to knock them over. I swear, he would wait until they got more than halfway full then spill them everywhere. Not anymore! I win! I just put the lid on the pan and cut a round hole in the top to sit the DampRid in. No more spills under the bed.

They work. They are doing exactly what they are designed to do.
I keep buying the cheap one and it smells like a public bathroom. Yuck! But Omgsh it does it’s job well! We are using these in places we know has moisture. In a certain room in our house where the heater and hot water tank is. We don’t see moisture but we can smell it. Also my daughters trunk of her car that used to leak a lot (and possibly still does a little) has a musty smell. Or should I say HAD a musty smell. These things are amazing! If you use them right and understand HOW they work. After your poor your crystals in and let them set, the DO get hard as a rock (they are absorbing moisture, duh) and then the tub eventually fills with water. That is what it is SUPPOSED to do. So many negative reviews about this when it’s doing exactly what it was designed to do! It pulls that invisible moisture that you cannot see, from the air or place it’s sitting in, and gets trapped INSIDE the tub. I do not like the smell of these cheaper ones, but I’m guessing that’s why they are cheap. It really doesn’t serve as an air freshener so it doesn’t make the air too strong. They are just very strong when you first open them. But that’s on me. I keep purchasing the cheap ones because they are cheap and because THEY WORK!

Unsure..
Was unsure whether or not to leave a review for this product because I’m unsure if it’s working or not. I bought 2 double packs of these for the basement of a house we recently purchased which sat vacant for 2 years. The basement smelled musty and felt “heavy” so I figured these would be a good temporary solution until we can pick up an actual dehumidifier. I followed the instructions on the package and placed them randomly around the basement. A week later, I checked them so I can pour out the water it collected, but there was no water.. in any of them. So I waited another week.. same thing, no water. It’s been a full 4 weeks now, and I’ve yet to see any moisture accumulation on the bottoms of these containers BUT the basement smells better and doesn’t have that heavy feeling anymore. So honestly, I’m unsure if this product did anything other than help my basement smell nice. Still gave it 4 stars because it really does smell nice & helped with getting that stale stank out.
