so I gave this one star because I can't get the skimmer to work correctly. I have two of these and they look great. This is the first lily pipes i have bought so I think I am in the "user error" department. Anyways, the skimmer is always sucking in air and soon enough it gets stuck to the inlet and I can't get it to work. In the beginning it worked great but,.. i don't know what I did. Neither of them work for me and i promise if someone tells me what I am doing wrong i will change to a 5 star review.

Just as other reviewers have noted that it started to rust after only one week of use at the soldering joint on the skimmer. I love the look they are so much easier to clean than my glass lily pipes (which broke after 6 months of use.I have pulled it out so that it will not harm my snails and other Invertebrates. That is my number one worry. I have cleaned off the rusting discoloration and I have put a layer of an aquarium safe silicone around the joint. Hopefully this will fix the issue and I will be able to continue to use it.

So far, after just over a month of using this set of stainless lily pipe and intake with surface skimmer, I’m pretty pleased. They are easy to clean and go together pretty well. No corrosion. The acrylic mounts that come with it are a little bulky but they serve their purpose well. Best thing about it is they don’t break. I have a stone counter top where I clean my aquarium things and one little tap with glass parts and they crack. Not these. It’s nice. Worst thing is that the out flow piece comes off a little too easy. I keep bettas in aquascaped tanks and I add a sponge to the outflow to diffuse the water so it doesn’t bat my little guy around like bait. Too much flow stop on the sponge and the outflow piece comes right off. These stainless pipes are on a fluval 107 canister filter in a 14 gal cube. So overall, no real complaints. The pros outweigh the cons IMO.

Excellent product. Should’ve purchased years ago. So much better than the glass version which you will inevitably break. Really awesome upgrade to any aquarium. Does this company make a nano steel version too? If not, they should.

Looks super sleek. I couldn't get it spinning because I set to low flow rate for my tank.
