Incredibly sweet like pure honey
These are like ingesting straight honey. I opened my first one and thought maybe I just needed to knead the gel around like maybe it had separated but nope. The whole thing is like that. For reference, I was using Huma (which I find pretty sweet) and wanted to get away from the unnatural sugars. I just couldn’t handle the intense sweetness of these b-line gels. I needed way more water with them to compensate and had to break up a single pouch to keep from getting sick. Not returnable so find some way to try them first if you haven’t used them.

It Tastes Awful
Don't get me wrong, it does what it's intended to do. But, it tastes awful. I'm sure that the banana and strawberry is in there, but all you can taste is the maple syrup and salt. And when it sits in your pocket for an hour while running, it gets quite warm too.So, if you're looking for a salty shot of warm maple syrup during your run, this is the product for you! I'll stick to my gels...

Natural Fuel
I really liked the ingredients, but deducted 1 star bc I get better results from other products.

not the way I would do it...
Two dollars for a small serving of sugar and salt seems quite a bit too much. If you are very particular about the source of your sugar, I guess this fruit/syrup blend is moderately haute. Flavor is tolerable, but I didn't care for it much — nothing nasty but it will never be my favorite. There is no hydration here to make a complete exercise sustenance/replacement. In a road race with somebody offering little cups of water every few blocks, it might be just the ticket to keep from flooding your system with plain water. In my endurance events (fire fighting, digging post holes, going for the mail, etc), I need to provide my own fluids. The sugar and electrolytes in one pouch of B-LINE racing fuel are just a bit less than what is provided by 50¢ worth of pre-mix Gatorade (16oz, which I cut with water to a quart of restoration) or equivalent — I'll go the cheap way. I also try to not go so hard that my digestive system shuts down, so I will want a bit of fat and protein for down the line energy — say 50¢ fruit/nut/granola bar. So half the price and twice the nutrition, with better flavor and less plastic/foil trash — but my sugars are a bit more processed. YMMV.

An Acquired taste
So this taste very maple sugary, but to a point it becomes to much. The maple flavor overrides the rest of the ingredients. Thankfully the serving size is one pouch and they aren’t that big or overfilled. However, they say to eat 1 of these pouches to maintain your energy levels about 1-2 hours. I don’t think my body could stomach the amount of sugar (21grams) each time. That’s just asking for diabetes & try to stop taking these and you’ll get a sugar crash. Personally, I wouldn’t take these regularly.

Nice idea, but weird in execution.
I kind of liked the idea of these, but it's like puree. I thought there might be more of a liquid consistency, like thick water. So maybe if I added this to a water bottle, that would work better. I was also on the fence about the flavor. I could kind of taste the ingredients, but at the same time wasn't in love with any of the flavors I was picking up.

Who doesn't like strawberry and banana combo?
Why would anyone want a small two dollar pouch of a thick paste energy food? For everyday use, I would say it's probably not something you'd want. But for backpacking, hiking, cycling, kayaking, running and other outdoor activities it's a nice boost of energy and a bit of food to hold off hunger.Who doesn't like strawberry and banana combo? Definitely a good flavor and it's much thicker than you might think. The pouch is small but packs a punch.Highly recommended
