This band looks like the original and is a little softer. It was easy to remove the old band and install this one. The fit is perfect. It wears like or better than the original band. We'll have to wait a couple of years to see how durable it is and if the color stays true after hot and cold weather and swimming in the sun.

Keep your friend still working. This watch band is better than the original.

My old Garmin band corroded from wear and tear, sweat and heat. This band replacement is fine, but taking the old band off and putting the new one on might be better if you take it to the jeweler. I damaged my watch trying to take off the old band. Get a jeweler with the right tools and experience to help you with the replacement.

Replacing the band requires removing the existing screws, which can't be done because the screwdriver included fits the new screws included with product, but DOESN'T FIT the ones already on the watch!

For openers, those included screwdrivers were of no use. The original watch pins have a loctite adhesive on them and the only thing that will work is a good jewelers screwdriver and a small hemostat.Second, one of the band holes, on the non-clasp side, was not all the way through. I had to hand drill the hole using a fine bit to get the pin through. Poor QA.We shall see how long these last. If you are conducting an aggressive sport, a safety strap might be on order. Of course, these models are not worth much anyway at this point.

My husband has a 10 year old Garmin that he has used for marathons, cycling, and an IronMan. This band worked great. The old band was a little hard to get off but the new was easy to get on.
