These shoes get a five because they fit the standard for US Navy shoes and THEY'RE NOT BATES!! They seem much better quality so far and are much more comfortable than Bates! Best is even if they have a 'blowout'...they're $30!

For my US Navy summer white uniform I need a pair of white leather oxfords with white soles - not too many options on the market! Having been let down by a pair of Bates that had the soles disintegrate after only being worn a few times, I resolved to go elsewhere. I found these on Amazon and figured for the price (around 1/2 what a new pair of Bates would've cost me at the Navy Exchange) that they were worth trying. I'm very glad I found them! The quality of construction seems very good, and the leather is very supple - surprisingly so, feels like a more expensive shoe.I don't wear my whites very frequently, so it'll be a couple years before I can say the soles last longer than the Bates, but so far I'm very happy with this purchase!

I've jokingly referred to these as my "Sunday Loafers" - worn only during inspections, and relegated back to the box immediately afterwards.But one day I didn't have time to change, so I wore these all day, and was pleasantly surprised and impressed that they can withstand being subjected to the hustle-and-bustle of the floor.This pair remains as my Sunday Loafers, but I wouldn't be afraid to "march into battle" once more in them.

Great for a boating club or Navy uniform and look like the Bates I used to have when I was in the Navy. Comfortable all day and fine on the docks, not slippy at all. Look the part Commodore! Get proper shoes. Less than a pair of sneakers and they look right.

I bought two pairs of shoes looking for comfort. 1st pair not so much ,however SR Max fits. I stand for hours in the O.R. and I need a shoe that will help me endure the inevitable fatigue that ensues. SR Max is one of the better shoes to help me with this.

My husband is very happy with the shoes. His feet were so painful with plantar fasciitis and heel spurs so with gel heel inserts and the shoe a wider width than he wore, he is very happy and pain free most of the time. The shoe gives excellent support and looks great. He will get other colors in time.

The SR MAX fit well and was comfortable even after a full day working on my feet. True to its description, the shoe gives secure footing even on slippery or wet surfaces. It also looks more professional than athletic shoes for a business setting. The SR MAX exceeded my expectations.

Bought these for my brother. He really liked them. He is a 87 year old veteran and wanted white shoes for summer. He was very happy with the fit.
