but didn't want to LOOK like a 38 year old woman that's too self conscious ...
I'm a 38 year old woman that decided to buy my first treadmill because I'm too self conscious to go to the gym, but didn't want to LOOK like a 38 year old woman that's too self conscious to go to the gym heh heh.I selected this particular model because while I'm only 5 ft 3, my husband is 6 ft 2 and the track on this unit was 60 inches. This is 5 inches more that most of the ones in the same price range that I found in the store, and my husband needed the extra space for his longer stride. Another benefit was that it could support 350 lbs. My husband weighs around 250, but his very cautious self wasn't going to jog on a treadmill that wasn't capable of handling more than his weight. No need to push it to the max right? Also, being my first treadmill I didn't want to get something that was going to fall apart on me, but I also didn't want to spend a fortune. The reviews that I had read indicated that the company had great customer service, and an impressive warranty.I ordered the treadmill, and later the same day received an e-mail asking for my best contact phone number. A few days later, I received a call verifying that someone would be home to receive the treadmill. It arrived via UPS freight which meant that a semi truck had to back into my driveway. I will caution anyone that orders this to be sure and have some strong people ready to receive this. Yes, it's heavy but considering that I want this to last for years to come, I want it to be durable and will not complain a bit. Besides, the fact that it was delivered instead of me having to try to beg off of a friend that has a truck to help me lift it out of the store was worth it!It arrived in great shape, and the company did a great job packing it. I've posted some pictures of what it looked like when we first opened the box. It felt a little daunting at first when we see tools, and parts and this big giant treadmill thing. The words "some assembly required" are generally not my favorite to see, but hey....my ASSets weren't going to shrink themselves, so my husband and I started unpacking everything. We were surprised (pleasantly) to discover that the treadmill was mostly assembled already. The only thing that we had to assemble was to attach the arms, and the display. It really wasn't too bad at all. Within an hour, we were done putting it together and were using it for the first time!Pros: This treadmill is quiet. I regularly use this while watching TV, and it's not disturbing at all. The length of the track is long enough that even my 6ft 2 husband can use it comfortably, and it's simple enough that my 10 year old son enjoys jogging on it as well. He has ADHD, and he just fell in love with it. He's read books while walking/jogging which really helps him burn through some of his extra energy while doing his homework. Another thing that I like about it is that the arms are level. The reason I like this is because I have been able to put something across it and essentially make a desk for my laptop. I can fast walk while I play a game and lose track of time, go on-line, or work on my computer. There was actually a wooden piece in the packing material that fit perfectly across the arms to create the pseudo desk. I'm sure that this isn't what that piece was intended for, but it works great for me until I can get something else. Also, the incline is wonderful. Just the push of a button, and I can increase/decrease the incline easily while continuing to work out.Cons: It doesn't fold up. Honestly, I don't even know if this is a con since most of the ones that do fold end up in a V shape that still takes up room anyway. Also, we tested the speakers, and they weren't very impressive. I didn't personally care about the speakers since this is going to be in my home anyway and I have a stereo, or TV in my house that I can listen to while I jog. At this price point, I didn't care about the speaker frills. I just wanted a sturdy unit that would last a long time, and I feel like that's what I got. Just mentioning it in this review to be thorough.Overall, I've been walking/jogging on this every other day and I'm really happy with it! I'm not much of a morning person, so it's nice to be able to just wake up and get the coffee going while I'm in my PJ's and then use my treadmill. I realize that some people like going to the gym, but with kids in the home, I can walk/jog while enjoying tv with the family, or helping my son with homework. Going to the gym doesn't work for me since I'm too busy with kids. This fits my lifestyle perfectly.

solid unit. speed calibration required
the treadmill is solid. smooth speed control well beyond my need even as heavy as I am (210lb). there is a calibration issue with the speed. it runs ~15%-20% faster than the indicated speed based on 20+ years of running experience with gps and timed race pace as well as fit bit step count. Don't know how to get an accurate measure of belt speed or how to apply a calibration correction to the controller. I haven't had a chance to pursue It with the company, not through any fault of theirs. I just haven't taken the time because it doesn't bother me enough to take the time.
