I bought this book as a gift for my best friend. He loves to collect art books from video games or movies and i though that a visual guide to Star Wars was just what he would appreciate.I almost didnt give it to him.The book's art is amazing. It mixes art from comics, cartoons, games and movie stills to piece together the story of the Star Wars universe from the time of the Old Republic (Tales of the Jedi and The Old Republic timeline) trough the Legacy timeline. It provides a quick glance at the evolution of the different conflict, and it collects everything from the animated serioes, movies, most important comic books, books, and video games.It also includes a section on the production of the movies and towards the end, there is a section dedicated to how the Star Wars memorabilia and products evolved since the late 70s.You dont really have to be a die hard Star Wars fan to appreciate this book. Needless to say, my friend loved it.

My 8yo son saw this at a bookstore prior to his birthday and put it on the top of his birthday list. Anytime he wants a book, I usually get it for him. He has poured over other Star Wars character encyclopedias, so I figured this would be a good addition. He has enjoyed looking at it, but it is definatly beyond his reading level. This will be a book he can enjoy for many years. As I looked through it I found it interesting how it lay s out alot of history of the times before and what happens after the "movie years". I also liked the in depth write ups about characters and places. There is a neat section at the back featuring lots of Star Wars products and it was fun to see items we have.

My super nerdy brother will love this for Christmas! He has asked for Star Wars stuff literally every Christmas and birthday in his entire life (he’s in his 20s). This looks like a book with some new content for him to devour. It did come a little banged up though, so I took off a star for that.

I have been collecting all the various Star Wars guides, encyclopedias, and dictionaries as they come out for about 15 years now, and I'm very happy with this one. I don't know what the prior reviewer is complaining about, the book is exactly what it's advertised to be - an updated version of Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual guide, with new, additional content. That's what an update is. What part of that equation doesn't he understand? Anyway, if you're looking for an enjoyable, well laid out guide to Star Wars, I highly recommend the book. If you already have the prior version, whether the additional content is worth paying for the book again is debatable. I chose to get it, and I don't regret it one bit.

Great Star Wars book. Even though most of this material is not considered Cannon now, this Star Wars book shows tons of fantastic material that all fans love. From Old Republic to the great Sith Lords and from Clone Wars to Star Wars : Rebels this book has it. Lots of wonderful images and well laid out in an understandable order for readers. Highly recommend this book to all Star Wars fans.

Showed up quickly and in good condition, great source of star wars lore

this is definatly one of the best star wars books ive ever read and seen, i have tons of books about star wars but this one has all the info you would need to know about star wars, with great artwork and very short but to the point information on characters, planets, weapons, making of the film, products, and more! if you want a book similar to this i would recommend star wars the complete visual dictionary.

The book was chosen for my 12 year old grandson for his birthday and who is a big fan of Star Wars. He absolutely loved this book and the contents of it - hard fir him to put down! I love Amazon because they had it gift wrapped and sent to my grandson on time even though I sent it at the last minute. It was a fantastic choice!
