Perfect for the use. :)
Works just how it should. I loved it so much I bought one for my second tank. 3 years going strong.

Works exactly like you would expect
I have been using this for about a month now with no complaints. I will say that the water flow has to go a specific direction or it will throw the over temp error code as you are feeding the water that it has heated across the temp sensor. The flow should go in from the bottom of the unit and out the top.It should also be noted that the temp is a little off, which I’m not overly worried about. I have it set to 77 Fahrenheit. It reads 76 on the display. If it drops under 76, it will heat to 77 and settle back at 76. My tank thermometer reads 78 all the time, so the way I see it, it is doing its job at keeping the temp consistent.

Works great with cannister filter
This heater is working great with my canister filter. Temperature accuracy is very close and well within any acceptable margin for any species of fish. My only complaint really is that it displays an error code rather than the current water temperature if the water is warmer than the current setting.

Why can't we give a Zero star?
Absolute joke. Skip this item... skip with it with an extreme prejudice!!! Run... don't stop, don't even contemplate it. Ordered and was delivered overnight next day. Yes... so far... so good. Received the item, installed it.. turned my filter on to ensure water was running through the heater before it was turned on. As soon as I plugged in the filter I saw the temp configured my default maxed out. Looks like they come this way by default as per reading other customer stories. 2 seconds after turn on I get an E-2 ERROR after it displays the temp setting. E-2 says it is an open drain or short circuit. So, literally... this thing failed immediately straight out the box and never once even worked. Horrible QA. Have never had such a poor product. What a complete waste of time and $. Amazon said they would replace it but now it would be a two day delivery however when I initially ordered it was an overnight delivery. Just horrendous service all around. Poor product and poor support. Don't bother and just keep right on scrolling past this product. If there was zero star's, that's what I would've give it. Don't waste your time and $ on a product that is DOA and what seems to be very normal intitial experience. By a hydor, it may not be far behind in quality bit at least I've never seen a hydor DOA. Thought I'd take the chance... turned out, I should've been skeptical as and less hopeful. I mean, at least work for 5 seconds! Didn't even work for 1 second. Get this crap off amazon

Space saver
I prefer the inline heaters vs the hang on side or submersibles. Just keep in mind that it requires water in the tube at all times. If you’re gonna clean your tank and stop the water from running just unplug it. If ever you get an “E code” i think it’s E15 but don’t quote me. It’s simply means the temperature of the water in the tank is higher than the heater parameters. So if your water temperature is 83° but the heater’s thermostat is set to 79° it will read that code. There’s nothing wrong with the heater nor did w heater make your tank warm but it can be used as a warning that your aquarium could be too warm which isn’t good for reef tanks. Possibly the room temperature is too hot.

Compatible with sun sun canister filter.
Compatible with sun sun canister filter hoses- no need to change any fittings although it comes with three sizes. No leaks and no need for metal clamps. I was worried because of all the reviews of external heaters not being compatible or leaking. Ended up giving this one a try and so far it’s been seamless. Super easy to install and no problems. I have been waiting for leakage, so I haven’t plugged it in to test heating yet. I know that’s the whole point of an in line heater, but my first concerns were compatibility and leakage. I’m setting up a new system so I have the luxury to play around with it because there are no fish in the aquarium yet. My rating is based on compatibility and leakage only- I will update with a heating review in the future.Update: heating fluctuates about 3-4 degrees per day from 75 to 79 over the course of the day. I have the temperature set at 76 Fahrenheit. All of my hardy fish and plants are healthy but I don’t recommend this heater for delicate species of aquatic life.

Simple to use. Allows you to take the ugly heater out of your tank if you have a cannister filter.
This readily attached to the hose on my Fluval cannister filter hose. It's simple to understand and even more simple to operate. I took out my in-tank heater which makes the tank look better and makes it safer. The price is fair also. I would definitely buy again if the need comes up again.
