High quality and sharp
This is my first upcut spiral router bit, I have had it for several months and I wish iI had bought it earlier. I am using it for duplicating patterns, it cuts clean and the bearing seems to be high quality. I had researched CMT prior to purchasing this bit and after using it I will be purchasing more.

Does the job
The small bearings on top were a concern since they appear to be smaller than the cutting portion . But the bit followed my guide perfectly with no issues. I used this bit for cutting a pattern on a 3/8' plastic kitchen cutting board. As long at your rough cut is very close to the final shape you should get a chatter free cut.

Solid bit for aluminum laminate
We lay a considerable amount of solid core aluminum laminate and use these bits for the final trim. The cut it clean and fast. Keep the bearings lubricated and keep and eye on the clip that holds the bearings in place.

Dont waste your money
I have used these type of bits before but not the CMT brand. I use them for pattern cutting in 1/8in maonite and 1/2in MDF I got less than a foot of cutting in the MDF with one bit before it snapped. The second bit wasnt much better in the masonite. Both bits broke in the same spot right at the base of the cutter. I will look for whiteside bits in the future. CHEAP BITS....

Fantastic so far. Will have to see how it hold up over time.

bit broke in half *immediately* during first use on 1/4" MDF
And no, I wasn't rushing the cut or doing anything inappropriate in terms of the router usage. I have to suspect the bit was simply faulty, because an entire line of bits failing in this way seems so unlikely. Perhaps other CMT bits will not fail in this manner. But in general, I must recommend that you go with Whiteside bits.

Pattern bit for intricate profiles
This is a handy bit for use when using router patterns that have tight inside curves. Although less robust than the more common 1/2 inch shanked pattern bits, it will allow you to produce some interesting profiles that are not possible with the larger bits. Just keep its limitations in mind, slow down and avoid forcing the router.
