Sprout Revolution Nutrared Sprouted Flax Seed Powder with Goji And Cranberries, 16-Ounce Pouch (Pack of 2)

I'm not bored of this. Great source of fiber and Omega-3.
This is my first flax, purchased to supplement my lack of Omega-3 intake due to a fish allergy. Here are some of the things that stand out for me:Packaging:The packaging goes into great detail about why sprouted flax is better. Grinding it to expose the innards is one thing, but going one step further and sprouting it first helps to reduce the enzymes that would normally serve to protect the dormant seed on its journey through a digestive tract. The packaging also further explains how the shelf-life is extended and the need for refrigeration is eliminated, providing you keep it sealed when not in use. I also squeeze the air out which is so much easier with the zip-lock closure. All of the above plus the nutrition information, and even the colors makes for a pretty snazzy and informative presentation. The only annoyance is sometimes the thin flax powder gets into the ziplock, preventing a full seal. Maybe not bad if you go through this fast, but I put the bag into a secondary air-tight container (old clear plastic jerky container with screw top) just to be safe.Flavor:I honestly have nothing to compare it to since this is my first purchase of flax, but what I can say is that for any supplement I have tried before, if they try too hard to disguise flavors or add others, I get tired of a product super fast. I mix this and it has, as many say, a pleasantly nutty flavor that is not overpowering and does not leave a bad aftertaste. The added berries are just a slightly tangy accent, with the occasional small chunk (far less than the size of a mechanical pencil lead, maybe .1 to .7 mm at most) floating about. I mix this up in a concoction (see below) and the berry does not clash at all. They offer a non-berry version as well if you don't even want to mess with that flavor, but I enjoy the added benefit of more anti-oxidants to counter my nitrite intake. I am not a professional body-lover ... I eat a lot of bacon and what-not. The only dislike here is that if it is consumed by itself, there is a slightly bitter taste that I am not sure if it comes from the flax or the berries. It does not linger long and quickly gives way to the nuttiness as you find the remaining particles in your mouth and chew the tiny bits between your teeth. The bitterness is however not detectable when I use this in my liquid mix described below.Texture:Well, it is ground seeds. The only thing I can compare to visually (see photo) would be brown sugar or the exfoliating bits you find in a natural facial scrub except softer and chewy, not hard/scratchy at all. The particles are probably about as small as you can possibly grind a seed without ruining nutritional value due to processing heat/cell wall destruction (just my opinion, not based on any research). It mixes as good as any solid would, and does not really dissolve. Downsides to this are that if you take long to drink, particles may settle to the bottom of thinner liquids, and if you do not mix properly, the product can cake up and stick to the bottom and sides of a container. I add liquid first then this.How/why I use it:I currently live alone, with little supervision and no one to impress (and no one to cook for me if I don't feel like it). My diet can get pretty terrible due to being super busy with work on one end of the spectrum, or laziness on the other. By terrible I mean either prepared/fast food but more often, just not enough consistency of mealtimes or balance of nutrition when staying home. I started out with Soylent, and if nothing else in a day, I always try to drink one in the morning. I then upgraded with a scoop of Vibrant Health - Maximum Vibrance complete nutrition powder. But at times when I was not really eating anything else, I noticed there was not enough fiber in my diet (hungry quickly, less than ideal turd density). I came across this product and saw multiple benefits and after some experimentation, added this third and final ingredient to my witches brew of nutrition. Results:I don't want to be too subjective or somatic, but the one major thing I noticed is that if I drink my mix in the morning after the addition of this flax to my routine (one very heaping table spoon), I can go all day without getting hungry (in my usual low-energy state). I am also regular like clockwork every morning, with no added problems in my usually sensitive guts. Your results and/or turds may vary. I will probably keep buying, one pouch lasts about a month if I stay consistent on scoop size, and miss a day or two here and there. However, if I have to reduce costs, this would be the 1st ingredient to cut back on because it does not have the nutritional profile of the Soylent or Max Vibrance in my mix.My magic formula:Let me first say that I am not a nutritional expert, and my philosophy here, when I started with the Soylent, was that if I really am going to only eat one thing in a day, or eat inconsistently, or eat bad things at other times, my first meal might as well be something better than junk. Through trial and error I came up with this weird mix that after staying consistent, controls my hunger and allows slow weight-loss if I don't get too crazy with impulse/comfort eating.A 24 oz. shaker bottle with mixing ball/spring is a necessity because Soylent, as the base liquid is already pretty much super-saturated with nutrients and is difficult to dissolve anything into without it caking up.Step 1: 4 oz. hot tap water into the shaker bottle.Step 2: 1 scoop maximum vibrance (2 scoops is recommended for a "meal" but I do not want to overdose on vitamins that are redundant in the Soylent!)Step 3: Swirl or shake to dissolve.Step 4: Heaping tablespoon of this product, Sprout Revolution.Step 5: Pour in one bottle of refrigerated Soylent.Step 6: That crap ain't cheap, so I put a couple ounces of filtered water into the Soylent bottle, swish it, and dump the rinse into the shaker bottle. The shaker is full by now, and the extra water helps to mix/chug.Step 7: Shake it like you mean it, get all of the goobers from the sides and bottom.Step 8: Ok ... the resulting flavor from these three completely different products is not terrible, as they are all relatively neutral. But drinking your breakfast can be boring and you don't want particles to settle out. So pretend this is your first frat party and chug it. The water/soylent makes a thin creamy consistency, the Max Vibrance completely dissolves leaving only a slight green flavor, and the flax powder texture is definitely noticeable.Step 9: Enjoy your energy boost and the knowledge that even if you eat nothing else but jerky and twinkies all day, your body got some of the nutrients it needs to help you walk back to the beer aisle.Step 10: Get into the habit of cleaning the bottle right away, the flax sticks to everything and any chunks will dry very hard.My situation is unique and my own, but there are just as many lazy asses out there who want to eat easier/healthier as there are six-packed herbivores with all the motivation in the world. I hope this helps you whoever you may be!

Quality Flax Product with Added Antioxidant Goji Berries
Sprouted Organic Raw Flax with Added Goji is a great tasting and more readily digestible ground flax product. The extra cost is worth it to me, because I feel it is getting better utilized by my digestive system. It also tastes great and needs no refrigeration. Goji berries are a unique addition to a flax product and a great antioxidant. Ground flax will thicken up a smoothie and has a mild nutty flavor.

Bam! I've found an amazing blend
There are times I want specific blends for my smoothie. I hate having to spend time mixing a bunch of separate powders in order to make my own superfood add-in. It's okay when you're home and have time to do it but no so much when you're on the run. This mix has a blend of goodies I can live with when short on time to prepare my smoothie. A little goes a long way and it makes juice, smoothies and vanilla protein shakes taste AWESOME!

Great stuff!
This is quality sprouted flax. Tastes great, is one of the best things you can eat, has added super berries, and lasts for two years without the need for refrigeration. Wow! Also I didn't realize that the outer shell is removed with sprouting, so that makes it a lot more palatable actually. Well worth the price, I'm glad this company goes to the trouble of sprouting them.

Sustainable Energy and Nutrition
Organic sprouted flaxseeds are one of the best things you could possibly eat. The cherry on top is that it probably is more efficiently absourbed since it's a powder. This is the secret ingredient in all of my blended meals, not only taste-wise, but it is the primary mode of all my energy during the day. I gave it to a friend of mine on the paleo diet, and he told me it gave him as much energy as a good streak may give him. From then on, I call this stuff my "flax steak". It's so filling and nutritiously completeing that I find it physically impossible to consume more than a certain amount of anything with this mixed in. I no longer drink coffee, and have been addicted for years.
