Accurate tools for woodworking
Used them to for some precise measurements. Only issue is keeping the pencil points from breaking while drawing lines.

Exactly as promised
From reading some of the reviews I was expecting it to be thinner than it actually is. It makes sense that Incra would make it as thin as possible without sacrificing structural integrity. The thinner it is, the less chance of parallax effect. If you're looking for something that's incredibly accurate but has to be able to withstand being dropped, stepped on, etc.. this is probably not for you. If you plan on taking care of your tools and putting this up when you're finished, then buy it.

Accurate and readable, but very annoying and way too expensive.
The price on this thing is what makes my review go lower. My expectations for something that costs this much are high. The ruler is easy to read and very accurate, but the reason i bought this thing was for the pencil marking and being able to slide it across the wood.If anyone has any strategies on how to slide, keep the ruler against the wood and hold the pencil straight without breaking the lead at the same time, I'm all ears. The holes are so small you can only use the skinniest of mechanical pencil lead, which inevitably breaks 10 times as you write on the wood. You're constantly stopping the measurement to replace the lead that just broke. I used up all the lead in the pencil by the first day.

These tools are very nice addition to the shop
These tools are very nice addition to the shop. They work well and seem very durable. The marks and holes are all engraved/lasered so nothing will come off or disappear. The 12 inch set is sort of bulky and if you are doing smaller parts I would recommend the 6 inch set instead. It all seems pretty accurate and from what I can tell is all square and true. The metal is only about .010-.015 thick from what I can remember and maybe I will update later if I get a chance to measure. As with any precision measuring device don't drop it on the concrete floor of the shop or it will be damaged for sure. Not that I did that with this but I have with other things and it ain't pretty. Corners are the first to go and even though most of the corners on this set are hardened stainless....these aren't like a 6 or 12 inch rule....if you drop one of these items they are more likely to fail than fly. The red anodized aluminum rail works good but has a little too much play in my opinion that allows operator error in aligning the rule square...but it is easy enough if you are know what to do.It would be nice if the red anodized channel had some sort of Teflon insert on the inside rail so it was just a little easier to slide along an edge. The 6 in T-square probably doesn't have the same problem since less cantilevered rule. All in all I like these tools and cant see any reason to dock any stars. I'm waiting for the 6in T-squares to come in stock too but one of those.

A great Incra rule starter set
If you've never used an Incra rule, you don't know what you're missing. I has been using traditional combination squares before buying this (my first) Incra rule set, and I could never go back now. Combination squares are quick and useful for making perpendicular marks, but rather poor for accurate measurements. The well-marked precise holes and slots in this set precisely locate a 0.5mm mechanical pencil lead and let you make a quick mark, or scribe a straight line (using the T-rule) with ease, speed, and precision. They really are magnificent tools for precise woodworking.I started out with this 6" set, since smaller dimensions (rabbets, dados, dovetails, etc) are the most sensitive to precision, but I plan on buying several larger rules and/or T-rules (12" or 18") at some point.I use the T-rule the most. The adjustable end bar on the T-rule is handy, since it allows you to slide it flush with either end of the rule, but is long enough to keep the rule square and aligned with the workpiece. The flat rule is my second-most-commonly-used item in the set. It's nice for quick flat measurements and marking.I use the bend-rule quite infrequently. Depending on the type of work you're doing, you may hardly use it. Unless you're hand-marking tenons, there just aren't many situations where it's needed. It's a clever tool for the right purpose, but one I could get by without.I'll conclude my review with how I started it. Whether you're a beginner or experienced woodworker, Incra rules will make precise measuring and marking faster and easier, and this is a great set to get started with.

Helps with layout
The pencil that is included didn't get produced correctly. Pieces that should have been joined were not joined; otherwise, it performed as expected. They are made of thin metal so be careful with them. You do not wish for them to get a bow or bend in them.

Updated to 4 stars!
Well, it is as advertised regarding marking holes every 1/16th. Sad news is I just opened my incra 12in. pro T-rule set & it was missing the "12inch marking rule". It had fitted foam inserts in its place instead. Never has this happened before. It's unfortunate I cannot get in contact with seller (that I know of) so I can make them aware. Very upsetting & disappointing. I haven't used it yet but I'm sure it'll do the job. The T-Rule is flimsy except for the edge ruler. That one's a bit more sturdy.Update (10.11.16) I was able to. contact Amazon and they sent a replacement lot that included all rulers. I had the opportunity to,use the T-Rule and edge ruler (making floating shelves) and they arewonderful. Love this. Only thing is I guess I'll need to learn this measurement style or mark with another ruler then switch to this one on each marked but that kinda defeats through purpose of this ruler set. I updated from 3 to 4 stars bc of this.
