Fantastic and responsive fighting pad
An excellent pad, was pleasantly surprise how responsive it was. After watching a few on and off reviews of the product I finally decided to take the chance and purchase the Fusion pad and was surprised how good this pad was.I have been using a lot fighting pads throughout the years and have tried many from the basic PS1 pad, Hori. Ascii, Mad Catz to the Neo Geo pad and this pad is easily one of the best pads I have used. The design based on the Sega Saturn Pad which are considered the best fighting pads by many due its precise and fluid D-pad, this fusion pad is no different. The PowerA Fusion Pad is extremely responsive, the D-pad is a floating design which enabled comfortable and swift movements. there is an 6 button lay out on the right side perfect for games such as Street Fighter / Guilty Gear.Same as the Hori Fighting Commander, the L1 / L2 triggers can be set to the right side of the pad, this enables a playing set up were the left hand can focus on motion and the right side will have all 8 buttons for commands. (Note the front top buttons (L1 / R1) are a bit sensitive and can be easily triggered accidentally when not intended).I play mainly the Neo Geo Pad for fighting games as I feel if offers me the most accurate and thumb friendly experience however this is not available for PS4. Due to this I have used the Hori Fighting Commander in which I would get alot of Thumb pain / blisters overtime due to set in D-pad.After months of not being fully comfortable with the Hori FC i decided to switch up. Within seconds of picking up the pad and trying out the D-pad I knew immediately this is very well designed pad.Overall a fantastic pad which focus on swift motion with thumb joint movement to control D-pad as oppose to the thumb point such as the Hori FC which can cause thumb blistering over time. Highly recommended if fluidity and comfort is priority for your style.

Excellent build quality and control
An excellent pad.It never felt comfortable playing fighting games with the original PS d-pad or other similar hard/stiff directional pads. The floating, softer, pad on the PowerA Fusion feels more controllable for my taste. The build quality is exceptional. The controller texture feels nice to the touch, from the body to the buttons. Comes with a detachable, nice quality, 3m cable and interchangeable magnetic covers with different colours. It doesn't feel cheap or hollow at all. For a few more bucks you can get a much better build quality than other similar fighting games oriented products like the Hori Fighting Commander. It's a very ASMR controller.

Seems like the dpad wears out extremely fast.
The controller has a lot of nice features and feels really good. I was really happy with it except for one thing, the dpad. It's already very soft out of the box, and anyone who knows anything about fighting games knows that the dpad has to be sturdy. In the beginning it was still nice, but even after a few days i'm seeing way more dropped combos and wrong inputs compared to what i usually do with the Hori fighting commander (which is probably the controller you should be looking at instead).I really wanted to like this controller, but i feel like it's gonna wear out fast.

This does not work for PS5 games
The description says it works on PS5, this is only true if you are playing PS4 games on the PS5. I purchased this for Streetfighter 6 on PS5 and the PlayStation tells you the controller will not work for ps5. Sadly this was indeed the case.

Recommended - great for 2d games
I purchased this control pad for other types of classic 2d games rather than fighting games, so this review is coming from a point of view of a more casual player. The controller has a nice weight and feel to it, and is not too light (which makes a controller feel cheap in my opinion) nor too heavy. My hands are on the larger side, and I found this controller to be nice and comfortable. I really like the feel of the buttons, and the layout is like the 6 button Mega Drive or Saturn controllers. The d-pad feels decent, and is again of the style of the Sega controllers mentioned. The usb cable is nice and long (3 metres) and has a nylon cover over it so it won't tangle easily. The end part of the usb cable that connects into the controller is a usb micro type with the outside part of the cable that locks into the controller, so it will not pop out while playing as you need to squeeze the clips in to release it. My only gripe with this is that the manual included says it's a proprietary cable (the proprietary part being the clip that holds the able into the controllers), the issue being that if you are wanting to replace the cable in the future and want to have this functionality (clip in to secure the cable) it may be hard to find an exact cable like this.If you have a game that requires using the touch pad then be aware there is no button for that, so do your research if you have certain game(s) in mind to use this controller for.The share and options buttons are there, and there are switches to change some of the buttons and d-pad functionality so you can use L3 and R3 (when you push in the left and right thumbsticks) and to change the dpad to act as the thumbsticks themselves. There is also the Playstation home button to come out of the game or to access the quick menu to shutdown the PS4 etc.For my test, I used this controller to do an entire playthrough of the original Mega Man from Mega Man collection 1 on a PS4 Pro and had no issues with the d-pad or buttons while playing and there was no input lag noticed. One thing however is that by default this game is set to use the touchpad button to access the settings menu. Thankfully the game lets you customise the buttons otherwise it would have been a bit of an issue.Three face plates are included: Black, White and Blue, and are easy to change and all look nice. My favourite being white. So to summarise:Pros:- Good weight and feel- Buttons have a nice feel and so does the d-pad- Long USB cable- USB cable has a nice secure connection to the controller- Easy to change face platesCons:- USB cable is proprietary, so while you can connect a standard USB micro to usb cable if you want a replacement like the one included, it may be harder to find some time down the line.- No substitute button to emulate pressing down the touchpad (though to be fair the seller's item description does warn you of this).Minor issues to bring it down to 4/5 stars, but to be honest I would mark it as 4.5 / 5 if I could.I am very happy with this controller.

D-pad broke after a month. PowerA refused to send Replacement
D-pad snapped off after a month.Contacted powerA for a replacement. They replied with "PowerA products are tested to withstand normal wear and tear [...] thus the warranty does not cover normal wear and tear".Amazing logic.Controller was actually decent to use, but has no reliability.
