If the hole on the bottom of the old chair leg has a diameter within the range of 1 3/4" to 1 15/16", these will fit.

They are plastic so I would think that you could drill a hole for the bolt as long as a washer and nut fits inside the plug. I would not trust it to be strong enough to be tapped and threaded without the washer and nut.

This plug fits any 1-1/2" OD (*outside diameter) square tubing with *INSIDE* hole diameters from 1 1/4" to 1 7/16" and wall thicknesses from 10-20 Gauge
