I've spent a good part of the last year experimenting
I've spent a good part of the last year experimenting, looking for a 'perfect' surface for my paintings. This is the closest thus far...ranging from canvas through Masonite to Bristol board and foam board. Besides the flawless finish, this has the virtue of laying flat; important when you paint with water+acrylic+tissue paper (warps 1/4 inch hard board enough to require steel to flatten it!), perfect adhesion to paint and ink or pretty much whatever, at a very affordable price! No doubt there is better out there, but for now this is a permament addition to my studio. I've attached a WIP (work in progress) detail image showing what it can do.
