I Am Spock

He sounds like a person I would have liked to call my friend.
I have purchased this book and found it very interesting by what it said and by what was not said. I enjoyed Spock and found a copy of "I am not Spock" at the library to read. This book borrows a lot from the first, from anecdotes to ideas expressed.Since I had no idea of Leonard's other works I have now watched some of the movies he has been in and read some of his poems. I will miss Spock and Leonard. Rest in Peace.

A must read for all creative people
I laughed and cried and oh man, it was a fast, fun read because I wanted to know every little thing. I am sad that the book ended and sad that he cannot continue with another book (but his son is continuing his legacy with a movie). This book is for every fan of Star Trek, every writer or creative person to see what goes on behind the scenes in creating a project, and anyone wanting to know the trials and "tribble" -ations of one man's rather humble life. What a creative genius in his own right with is photography and poetry and such. A definite must read.

SPOCK and NIMOY? Two old friends
Following the death of Leonard Nimoy this year, I felt compelled to again explore "space, the final frontier" once again and especially the character Spock who I thought was so completely brought to life by Nimoy. This book was written earlier than the book by the similar name, I AM SPOCK, and was very interesting and informative regarding Nimoy and his professional career. Moreover, both books give insight into how Nimoy created the character Spock (the Martian according to studio heads) and this explains how the character developed and, indeed, became a "Living being" to so many fans of Star Trek. It was exciting to remember! Having read this book and the other, I felt that not only had Nimoy died, but Spock as well. That was sad; I cried. Two old friends gone, but now probably out there exploring the world beyond this one. Live long and prosper.

Love Nemoy. I was an immediate Trekker in 1966
Love Nemoy. I was an immediate Trekker in 1966. I loved his acting in general. I possess great admiration for him in standing up to anti-Semitic white supremacists who try...even today...to deny the Jewish Holocaust. He will always stand as a collosus of humanity, reason, and intellect in my life. A must read for every humanitarian and humanist! The man behind the Vulcan mask.

A wonderful book! I love and miss you Leonard / Spock :(
It made me very sad to read this book because of the passing of one of my heroes growing up, but it was a great and wonderful book. Reading about the man who made Spock was very wonderful and just so sad :(I love reading memoirs about my favorite actors and actresses. Finding out all of these little tidbits that you never knew about them. The ongoing dialog between Spock and Leonard throughout the book is classic. He would have these conversations between him and Spock. They were quite comical and I enjoyed them immensely.Leonard Nimoy was a man of many talents. He not only starred in a lot of films and plays, he was a great director.I think anyone that loves the Star Trek franchise, especially Spock, will love this book. I highly recommend!Lived Long and Prospered!!!!!RIP ~ Leonard NimoyMY REVIEWS:www.melissa413readsalot.blogspot.comhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1213278466

Great read!
I enjoyed this book very much. The humor and seriousness Leonard uses to describe his experience with his Spock character were very interesting. He speaks of many other things as well. I met him at a Chicago convention years ago. He was very pleasant.

you will be enriched by the gentle, poetic nature of this brilliant, compassionate man
I was totally submerged in this book from the first page. I could hear Leonard Nimoy's voice ( and Spock's voice!) telling the story of Star Trek from TOS and throughout his life.If you are a fan of TOS you must read this book. If you are a fan of humanity, you will be enriched by the gentle poetic nature of this brilliant, compassionate man. He is a treasure, now crowned in glory in Heaven. LL&P

I love this man
This is a great book if you're looking for a ray of insight into the young Leonard Nimoy. He writes with ease and subtle humour, relating anecdote after another surrounding his involvement with Star Trek. He speaks of his colleagues at the time with fondness and grace regardless of how fast or weak their relationship was. He proves to be an insightful, sensitive and wise man, not unacquainted with hardship and failure. Despite all of his success through the Trek franchise, he possesses a genuine humility and gratitude towards his many fans and opportunities, and he has maintained a gentleness of spirit rivalled only by a sharpness of mind.

Highly recommended. Great packaging and quick delivery. Thank you.
Spoke was (and still is) my favourite character so Nimoy 's book is very well written and entertaining.Yes, a good book and well worth reading, particularly if you are hooked on the original ST series.

The logical book to read next!
I already had this in hardback and signed. However I wanted to read it again but since the great mans passing didn't want to damage the hardback. So ordered the paperback. Great book about one of my heroes. Very interesting book, and a good read.
