From Booklist Jilted by her fiancé and left in Ohio with a dumpy house and a job she can no longer perform, perfume creator Daphne Sweeten feels senseless—meaning that she can no longer rely on her sensitive nose to guide her in her work. Her choices now seem terribly limited. Anyone who’s been at a crossroads in life will enjoy Daphne’s curious adventures as she attempts to navigate a new path. Billerbeck (Perfectly Ridiculous, 2012), winner of four American Christian Fiction Writers Book of the Year awards, chronicles Daphne’s attempts to reconstruct her life after everything she believes in and relies on turns out to be false. She doesn’t know why her fiancé left, why her new house is such a wreck, or how to feel about her new boss, Jesse. Daphne feels like God wants her to stay put “for closure and healing,” which becomes her new mantra. Jesse, meanwhile, is busy trying to keep his scent department at Gibraltar Products from failing. Daphne’s nose was supposed to be the key to developing new fragrances for household goods. Something keeps him from firing impaired Daphne, and the two of them become a team, fighting against circumstances and their growing attraction to each other. --Carolyn Richard Read more About the Author Kristin Billerbeck is the author of numerous Christian novels, hitting the CBA bestseller list and winning the coveted ACFW Book of the Year in 2004 for What a Girl Wants and again in 2006 for With this Ring, I m Confused. Great Novel
I was looking for Christian Chick Lit that wasn’t so emotionally draining lol! This was perfect, Daphne struggles with things that most of us struggle with and it’s great to see how her faith in God carries her through some of the toughest trials in her life. I love the voice and tone of this novel it is witty, lighthearted and a very easy read!

One of my all time favorites
I so enjoyed this book, not only for the riveting storyline as Billerbeck always delivers but for the new "learn something new everyday" knowledge I gained about what a "nose" is. Shortly after reading this book, I was at a department store buying cologne for my son and the saleswoman told me there are only 3 noses in the world. WOW

I love her, but this book is not a good ...
I love her, but this book is not a good one. There's some great humor, as always, but the story really struggled. Read some of her other stuff - very light but typically still a lot of fun and a good read.

Learn to trust again
Through every romance or heartbreak story the love of God show us to trust, obey and accept His love and put ourselves in His hands every day in our every day lives.

Disappointing
Kristin Billerbeck is the QUEEN of funny Chick Lit. However, when there is no humor her stories seem to fall flat. At least this one did. I didn't laugh not once, it wasn't funny just frustrating how child like and insecure the heroine was. Hard to believe she was a Scientist. I was left feeling like she needed counseling and tons of self esteem before even thinking about a relationship, much less marriage. It was very rushed at the end. She was still hung up on her ex who dumped and used her horribly until the end! Billerbeck is still one of my favorite authors. If you want a good example of what she can write, I highly recommend the Spa Girls series (and they are FUNNY)
