I was so excited when I saw this beautiful box! My niece collects elephants and I thought this would be the perfect jewelry box for her.The cons: It might be my fault, because I never looked to see the dimensions, but this box was much smaller than I expected. It is not the same size as a typical jewelry box, but rather the perfect size for a few small pairs of earrings or rings. Also, the gold foil material on the top of the box was distorted/peeling a bit. Because the box is natural wood, the distorted look gives the box an antique feel which I think really worked. But otherwise, that might be something that you do not want.The pros: the wood is absolutely beautiful! It looks hand carved, and the color is so nice looking. The gold foil is the perfect pairing with the box's coloration, and (as mentioned above) the combination gives the box a very vintage/antique look. All in all, I would say that the jewelry box is beautiful and charming, but small. It was not what I was expecting from the photo, but I turned out to love it anyways.

I don't want to say this was disappointing, I was just disappointed how it ended up for me. I originally ordered this for a Christmas for my sister, and ultimately ended up ordering a different one by the time this was delivered.First issue was that the elephant on top looks so gorgeous in the picture, but upon delivery, the gorgeous elephant was severely scuffed.Second, there was mold on the lining inside. Not a huge issue because you could just remove the lining, but it wasn't for me so I didn't want to damage a gift for someone else.Due to the mold I ended up throwing this out not realizing that Amazon would want us to return an item with mold on it (they were great by the way, gave us our money back even though I was an idiot and threw the item away) and ordering a different one. I feel like there was some issues during storage and shipping of this item because it is a very beautiful item if you look at the picture, and obviously since this is handmade they took a picture of one that came out perfect. I may try to order this item again in the future to see if there is better luck so I can update this review with some positive feedback.

I bought this for my sister's birthday. She loves elephants. I got her a rose gold bracelet and wrapped that and set it in the middle of this box and I wrapped the whole thing up in a really pretty bow.I thought the presentation is so nice. ITs really well-made and i am sure it will last a lifetime.The price was awesome as well. And no funny smell (like some finished wooden boxes have)

Smaller than I thought but it’s still worth the money. A little hard to open as well but it is hand crafted so Idk if that makes a difference or not. It’s very adorable thou

My friend liked it. She's a huge elephant lover (she refers to elephants as heffalumps like in Winnie the Pooh). I bought this to put an elephant bangle bracelet in and gave it to her for Christmas.

Perfect little box for my granddaughter's 12th birthday. The pendant I bought fits nicely inside. Look at the measurements again, so that you are not surprised by its small size. It's well made, and it is what it is. One person was disappointed with the elephant, stating it was a 'sticker'. I did not feel that way. Seems to be inlaid brass. Shipped promptly, no problems.
