Good tool Tips for use
Great value for dollar. Handle is for small to medium sized hands. The serrations are very helpful and well made. A note on proper sickle technique: Assuming the user is right handed (they are made right handed but can be used by left handers) one gathers a bunch of herbage with a counterclockwise circular motion that returns to the closer point of said circle with the point of the sickle towards one's navel. Then user's gloved left hand grasps the herbage and the sickle is rotated clockwise as the left hand pulls the herbage in a countering direction. With this technique one uses the serrations properly. One can of course swing it about, but then why not use a safer tool: machete or better yet a scythe?

Good ol' sickle
A time-proven effective design, as the description says. And it truly is. I love the fact that I can pull up and bunch grass together with the tip of the sickle - comes in handy when pulling grass/weed bunches from in-between rose bushes and other hard to reach places. And the serrated blade is magical.

Designed for the small farmer.
Not a light garden use only tool. It was made in Austria to be used on the small farm. The carbon steel is good quality and holds an edge well. The serrated teeth allow it to cut very thick weed stalks by using a sawing action. Caution, the tip is very pointed and it's easy to poke yourself in one hand while using it in the other. I would advise blunting the tip with a few strokes of the file to avoid that. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the bent over tang is a bit thin and it pulled out when I rared back to cut a heavy stalk. I was probably using it wrong. After refitting it into the handle and bending the tang back over I use the sawing moton on heavy stalks rather than yanking back and it has never pulled out a second time. Be sure to wipe it down and coat it with oil after each use. If left out in the weather it will rust.

Sturdy
I have bought 3 of these grass blades over the past 10 years. I lost one in my yard for several months. It stayed on the ground and still worked great afterward. They keep their edge well and work better than pruning shears, and you don't have to break out your weedeater for small jobs.

Absolutely trash. A novelty item at best...
If you actually have any intention of using this for it's intended purpose, don't waste your money. This is nothing more than soft metal that is bent and stamped. The serrations are stamped in and over half of them still had the metal flashing attached. It was also incredibly dull.I tried really hard to make this work. I used my Bucktool 1x42" belt sander to take off the garbage serrations and sharpen it, then a honing rod to bring it to a razor edge. Even then after giving it a professional high quality sharpening, the incredibly soft metal still dulls incredibly fast under light use. There are plenty of high quality Japanese hand sickles available for the same price here on Amazon that are made of high quality hard steel that will hold a razor edge for the heaviest of workloads. This product is nothing more than a novelty item for the bushwazee basement dweller LARPing as part of the proletariat.

The tool gets the job done!
I like that it's a strong tool and that it gets the job done if you have some vines, weeds, or tall grass to cut down. If you do a lot of cutting with it can be exhausting so recommended for small to medium fields. The metal is sharp so be careful to not cut yourself especially while reaping.

This is a great tool to have
I've been wanting to have one of those grass hook forever. This is a great tool to have. And this particular one is even greater because of the type of serrated blade, and it's handy for both right or left handed people. I'm left handed and I know how many tools are made more for right handed people. Can't wait for next growing season to use it!
