Very good product, to make it easy to use I made a a small jig for it to sit in that way I didn't have to hold it.

It's far too cupped (1mm or more) to flatten my Waterstones with the plastic piece in the middle, but if the plates are removed (held by magnets) they could be attached to a flat aluminium, glass, or steel plate.I bought this to regrind the main bevel of a 3mm thick HSS plane blade from about 45 degrees to 25 degrees (don't ask!)Was pleasantly surprised. The 120 grit side coped very well, taking only about 20-30 minutes hand grinding to change the bevel angle and then sharpen to 5000 grit, AND the plate is still useable, if somewhat worn, which is normal for a new diamond stone.Cut substantially quicker than a new 120 grit DMT diamond plate which arrived the same day, I tried.It's a keeper, for me anyway.

Flatted off my knife sharpening stones perfectly but after one use seems a bit duller than at first use. Time will tell on future uses.

Flat the stone very fast

Bought this to flatten my 1000 grit stone as a friend gave me an old single edged knife so needed flat stones to restore it and it did the job perfectly.

Terrible quality. The damn thing was anything but straight/flat. With a straight edge placed end to end , there was almost a 1mm gap in the middle. The other side was convex, by a slightly smaller amount.There is no way you could use the piece of crap to flltten another stone. Fortunately I only need it for rough pre-grinding of damaged plane & chisel blade.
