Surprisingly Incredible
This series has a lot of fun ecchi humor, fair warning to everyone: The perviness goes a tad over the top. Surprisingly, it isn't the titillation or humor that make this series such a surprise favorite but instead the actual genuine romance and drama that unexpectedly (by the end of the series) will have most readers overburdened with emotion. Don't expect that in this particular volume, this one is all fun, as are most of the volumes. I strongly recommend following this series to completion, to do anything less is a disservice to the material and yourself. In all honesty, I didn't initially intend on writing up a review for this material (as I was uncertain that I wanted my name attached to praising it, given the lewd material), but, having slept on it, I decided that, ultimately, the series is just too good to not herald for others to experience. Please do not take the warning of how perverse this series is with a mere grain of salt; it will not be for everyone. If you have the stomach or interest to experience the material, the pay off is greater than surface appearances would have led you to believe.

A Tease
If you are looking for WHAM, BAM, THANK YOU MA'M' this is not it. It goes right to the edge and backs off. Which is fine for me. I am more interested in the story than 'Part A goes in Slot B'. I already know how that works thank you and if you don't you need more than a manga to help. (Hopefully with a very close friend.)

Amazingly good mature content title.
Is constant sexual arousal and torment better than being rejected by the girl of your dreams? It is according to the male lead in Sundome.I've read manga and watched anime for years now, and I have to admit that I wasn't expecting anything more than another book with a generic plot and loads of fan service or no plot and over the top sexual content. Neither of those definitions describes this book. The story isn't about sex (as in the act of sex), it's about what makes you WANT sex. To that end there is a load of fan service, but rather than being accidental, cute, and somewhat embarrassing for the characters involved, it's intentional, provocative, and intense beyond embarrassment.By the time I had finished the second volume I was ready for the main characters to 'seal the deal', but true to the way the story plays out...it just left me waiting for and wanting for volume three. It's brilliant, I want it to happen. But it would almost be a letdown.I'll admit that the plot starts out a bit thin in volume one(they have to get you drawn in), but by the end of the second volume you can already see a gradual shift towards something a little deeper than what the cover art would indicate.Sexy? Oh yes! Smart? We'll see, but certainly a big improvement over the majority of the content out there. It should go without saying that the content in Sundome is largely inappropriate for readers who are A: offended by nudity and strong references to sex and/or B: too young to properly deal with these issues. So, as a previous reviewer said (and I'm paraphrasing). Keep the kiddies away, but involve your significant other (spouse, girl/boyfriend).

And you thought it was just smut!
I have no clue how I came across this series but I was blown away. Some people would read the first volume and think the series was just a smut series, but that's not true. you really have to dive in to the series to see the deeper side of the story. Sure it offers some fanfare shots, but it also offers some very well thought out comedy to lighten up dark situations. I think this is a coming to age story that allows others to seek out their own sexuality and sexual curiosities.Just remember to get through the first couple volumes of the series. Since it's only 8 volumes long. It really starts opening up in the second volume.Related/similar manga to check out: Nana to Kaoru, great series.

A Heartbroken Manga That Will Steal Your Heart
The best work of mangaka artist Kazuto Okada-sensei I love his work to the heart. This manga has the best twist of plot that will move your emotion of anger into sorrow. The sadness and happiness of each character will hit your soul and heart in each chapter where they develop into mature adults and face their weakness. I'm happy to buy this manga into my collection so I recommend you to buy it as well.

Excellent ecchi
I've read a lot of Ecchi manga but this is one of the absolute best. Not really as much fan service or outright nudity but that's not what this series is about. This manga is excellently illustrated, very well written and has a very engaging story to it. The main character is something many guys can probably relate to at some point.Excellent read, and can't wait to get the rest of the Volumes.

Not what it seems - much better in fact!
Just like a couple of the other reviewers, I must admit that my reasons for purchasing Sundome were, shall we say, slightly below the belt :)Yet, it worked out really well because this manga was completely not what I was expecting - rather than being a quick bit of fluff destined to be hidden under my bed it turned out to be a really thought-provoking tale of erotic love and loss <--- proudly displayed on my shelves. The series plays out like a lot of other boy-meets-girl manga and for the most part it is simply a romantic comedy. Now the kicker is that the comedy is rather risque as are most of the "romantic" moments so if you are buying Sundome to feel naughty then you won't be dissappointed. As funny as Excel Saga but with 260% more perversion!Still, what made all the difference for me was that the strong content never felt gratuitous. It actually aided the story and there is a deeply beautiful tale of melancholy and happiness underneath all of it which really grabs you. The ending is powerful but not dramatic and really hits home the point: to be in love is to be affraid. So yeah, I wish all my urges to dabble in this sort of thing resulted in such success! The series is 8 volumes all of which are now available in the UK.(PS - after reading some of the other reviews I expected this series to actually contain some sort of 'horror' element. This is entirely not the case - seems more similar to Love Hina to me!)
