With an innate artistic instinct and deep-seated appreciation for beauty, Kristin has explored all manner of creative endeavors from an early age. Art has been her constant passion and defining characteristic. Growing up, Kristin's family commemorated occasions and accomplishments by gifting jewelry, which she always viewed as the pinnacle of design for it's craftsmanship, nostalgia and functionality. This appreciation was heightened during a metalsmithing elective in college that captured her imagination unlike anything ever had. Years later, on a rather sudden whim, Kristin left her graphic design job to pursue jewelry as a career, knowing nothing of the industry or logistics. She has learned many things since then, perhaps the most important being that her own unique qualities can be used to embolden the uniqueness of others. She hopes that her jewelry encourages a lifestyle of self-expression, confidence and authenticity for the women who wear it. Kristin's style is a marriage of form and material, influenced both by her design experience and childhood collecting rocks and crystals from her grandmother's farm in the Ozarks. Derived from Art Deco geometry and Native American silhouettes, she aims for a memorable aesthetic that's refined yet organic. All of her designs begin as carvings that she sculpts from wax, which are then converted into cast bronze pieces through the ancient "lost wax" process. Each creation is hand cast by domestic craftsmen, then finished and assembled in her studio with great care and consideration.
