My grandson plays with this everytime he comes to visit!
Great toy for building imagination! My grandson is only 2 1/2 but he loves building the bus and the school house. We sit at the kitchen table and play with this for hours!

Easily collapses, Frustrating
Received as a gift. While we generally love Melissa & Doug products, this one just did not live up to expectations. The pieces easily collapse when put together. The slightest adjustment to move a piece or add an accessory resulted in a building collapse. Very frustrating for our 5 year old. Otherwise , the charcter pieces are sturdy and the accessory magnets stick to surfaces well. However, disappointed overall. Would not recommend unless you have a child who enjoys knocking things over (like our 2 year old).

Meh... Not so fun for the price. Fell flat with my 5 y/o girl in preschool
First off I have to say that we are HUGE Melissa and Doug fans in this house! We have come to depend on them for high quality, education and FUN! This is a nice idea in principle but in practice it just sorted fell flat with my 5 year old girl who I thought would be way into it. It's just not quite sure what it wants to be. It's stuck between 2D and 3D somewhere and ends up in toy purgatory in our house. It held her attention for all of 15 minutes tops and she hasn't played with it since. She's a BIG pretend play girl with DUPLO and figures and dolls, but this just didn't do it for her. She didn't know how to play with it really. While it's cute and the quality is good (though the pieces could bend if not careful just because of the design) this is one I one I would probably pass up on in other sets especially because it's so expensive. Take that for what it's worth. Hopefully this helps someone else! If so, please click the button below so it can be helpful to other people too! Thanks!

Fun sets that are compatible with each other.
I really love these magnetivity sets. There is so much scope for the imagination with them. The best part is that they will all work with each other, so you can mix and match sets and create some really expansive worlds. The School set comes with four wood + magnet people, a plastic bus base, twelve magnetic house pieces, four magnetic bus pieces, and a sheet of magnetic pop outs used to decorate and be props for your house and people. There are also two plastic stands for two magnetic people on the pop out sheet. The best way that I can think of describing these sets is as a combination of legos and paper dolls. The magnets on the house panels are sturdy, and can hold the weight of the dolls with no problem. Sometimes the panels shift if you jostle them hard enough, but for the most part they stay put.The bus panels tend to shift and fall down if you try to drive it around like a toy car while they are on, which is the reason for my taking a star off of this set (and all of the other vehicle sets that I have reviewed). The only part about these sets that annoys me is that some of the magnetic pop outs have extra space under the design and wind up covering more of the people than you want. Trimming with sharp scissors solves this, but it takes skill and patience to do it in a way that doesn't hurt the printed image or the way that it is mounted onto the magnet. The magnetic pop outs come out fairly easily, but an adult should probably punch them out, because some of the pieces are more intricate and can wrinkle or tear if not popped out slowly and carefully.School being what it is, any set would pair well with it if you were looking to get multiple sets at once.

What a wonderful introduction to school and school buses!
I am a huge fan of the new Magnetivity sets by Melissa and Doug. The school set is a favorite! Build your school with the two sided magnetic tiles and add magnetic accessories to create your story! The set comes with figures, but you can also use the two additional stands for the magnetic people. We taped two of our 3” Polly Pocket dolls to the doll stands so they could play as well! The two sided magnetic tiles are awesome. They show you what the inside of a school looks like and the outside! Want to read a book or play soccer? It can be done! Want to ride the school bus? The figures fit inside! You can use pretend play to ease your child into their first day of school! What a great gift for a child or use them for your own “QuietTime” activity. No batteries, no noise and no instructions! Free play at its finest! Allows the freedom to create and play their own way.We own several sets and love that they can all be used together. The magnets work great on the fridge as well, but they are meant to decorate the magnetic tiles. I am definitely excited that our other small figures and dolls can play at the school as well. Hands on learning that doesn’t come from an app!I have added several pictures to see the quality and size.

More trouble than it’s worth
Pieces do not fit well, hard to put together. Too many small pieces, not enough big pieces to build a sturdy school. Because of this my 5 year old losses interest in it quickly - which is unlike him.
