ab101 1" Hydraulic Tube Bender

After unpacking the bender I tried to slide a 1" piece of SS tubing it would not fit, it would not fit after removing the strap clamp. That is because the aluminum die was not a full one inch nor round in profile, with a lot of polishing it is now. The strap only fits if I use a smaller diameter bolt, because the hole is drilled in the wrong place. When I was done reworking it I bent a test tube and it did great. Just think of it as bender starter kit, it did bend well and the high micro finish I put on the die left no marks.

Cheaply made and took alot of "fine tuning" before it worked properly. How about a return spring and a slightly higher quality jack? You'd think at this price point it would be included. The dies are cast aluminum and appear like the company knocked off the sand, drilled two holes and tossed them in a box. In short I really wish I would have just made one myself.

Very pleased. So far used it to bend 1 inch OD, 1/8 inch wall Aluminum 6061 T-6. Very little effort needed; bends are perfect with no kinking. While the makings are very basic, it is easy to figure out how to get the exact angles needed. Nothing comes close at this price.

Works great with 0.065 thick 316 stainless polished tube for boat rails. Makes perfect 7.5" radius curves up to 90 degrees.

The one inch die only makes 7 inch radius bends, NOT 5 inch radius like they advertise. Buy at your own risk.
