I LOVE this self-cleaning brush, especially compared to others, and here's why:Unlike some other self-cleaning slicker brushes, with this one you press the button to *retract the bristles* into the base, leaving the smooth base that you wipe off (see picture).When you push the button *it locks* - push the button, and the bristles are retracted and *stay* retracted. Push it again, and the bristles pop out and are ready for brushing. (Other self-cleaning brushes have a spring-loaded button, you have to hold it pushed in while removing the hair from the brush.)2. Because with this one the bristles stay retracted when you retract them for cleaning (again, see the picture), it is *much* easier to store, and the little bristles are protected so that they don't get bent (which quickly happens with brushes where the bristles stay exposed).Plus you can throw it in a drawer, and not only not worry about the bristles being bent, but you don't have to worry about poking yourself in the finger (or under a fingernail - ouch!) when you are reaching for the brush.This brush is the only one I've kept - I've given away all of the others that we have accumulated over the years. This brush, along with a Furminator, is all that we need!

This thing works just as it says it does I suppose. However, my cats hate it. Seems a little too rough for kitties. I gave it to my mom for her dogs. Would recommend for dogs but not cats. I know this is going to sound weird but the best way I've found to clean my cats is to wet your hands slightly all over then pet them all down their bodies (my cats do not like water but they still like this.) Then just rub your hands together over the trashcan/outside so you dont clog drains. It may sound silly but it's the best de-shedding technique I've found and it's free!

These GroomEasy Slicker brushes are the best slicker brushes I have ever owned. As far as the "slicker" part; they do the job as well as any other slicker brush. The true genius is in the design of the brush head. Instead of pushing a button and a plate pushing the hair to the end of the wires, you push the button to uncover the slicker part so that you can brush the animal. This does two things: 1. It protects the wires from getting bent and possibly scratching your pet and 2. It pushes the hair completely off of the wires for collecting, instead of that little bit of wire that always keeps a bit of hair. I have this one for Cats and Smaller Dogs and a larger one. This one is slightly too large for my cat's head area; but it is great on his other areas. He sees me get it out and comes running to get brushed.

4 stars only because I have a smaller dog and the head on this is too large to get a good swipe under his arms, around his face, etc. However that seems to be true with other such purchases. I do love how easy it is to remove any hair collected in the brush. I have a poodle mix and with his silky hair type it knots feverishly. I must stay on top of it or he has to be shaved. I prefer his normal "style" over the shaved (summer) look anyway, Simba Llapsa Poo) didn't seem to mind at all with few exceptions and sat with me through the entire brushing process. I do believe that I will be adding a spray for controlling electricity in the future. I also bought the "deodorant" spray for between groomings, it has a light pear scent and is wonderful.

This is just what I needed for my small indoor dogs. In two days I pretty much eliminated the flea eggs and dander junk, not to mention seed ticks, from my hairy tuff guy. He hates the flea comb, which is what I used prior to this. He doesn't mind this at all, and I am so pleased with the hair eliminator; press, and it's gone. My Chihuahua is not so pleased to be brushed with this, but he'll get used to it. My old cat doesn't like it, either, but she;ll come around eventually. I ordered the larger size for my outdoor guys. Will order another for back up, although this comb is well-made and I don't anticipate any problems.

This is the best brush I have ever had. I thought I kept the dogs well brushed before - this is something else! The most wonderful part of this brush is how it handles mats. I have an older long haired dog that gets mats around his neck and never wants to let anyone address them. I used the brush over his neck and the mats loosened and I was able to easily remove them. Also, this seller has sent me several emails with tips in regards to using the brush. I can't stress enough how great this brush is! I plan to get another just to have on hand for the future! I highly recommend this product and the seller!

I love this. I use it on both my labs along with the 2 in 1 Deshedding Tool By Shed Ninja that I purchased. I also use it gently on my short haired cat. And all three love it. It is awesome to be able to not have to tear at the rakes to pull out the hair, injuring your fingers and hands while doing so. My grandmother would have loved to have had this when she was raising & grooming long haired dogs. The pets also seem to like being gently brushed with this. I highly recommend.

This brush works great on both of my cats ... one is a Maine Coon cat with very fine hair and the other is an orange tabby with lots of fly away/floating in the air when he runs kind of fur.They love being brushed with this easy to use Groomeasy Brush. It certainly tackles the challenges of that fine undercoating of hair that other brushes miss. The push button works smoothly and makes getting those thin hairs from brush to trash in the easiest way of any brushes I've used.Highly recommend this for cats.
