Not worth the hassle
I bought this to deal with my food scraps. I leave alone so there isn't too much output on a weekly basis. But the process is messy, slow and very smelly. Having to press down the scraps on a regular basis is the main hassle. Would not recommend storing this in an enclosed area. While the lid keeps the strong odor under control, when opened to add more scraps or draining the liquid, the smell is strong and horrendous. I gave up on mine after about 2 months.
