This one gets 5 stars just for looking so good! Hanayama knows how to make a puzzle that looks too good to just shove into a drawer, stored away out of sight. You have to display these beauties and this one is definitely front row on my shelf! Not all that hard, but still fun and of course it looks really good on the puzzle shelf!

Firstly, the quality of this puzzle is superb, has a nice weight and a very smooth feel to it.Secondly, the difficulty is definitely on the higher side. I've done a few other Hanayama puzzles so I was prepared for a challenge. At first it seems as though there is no possible way to separate the pieces (or even budge them to move). And even when you finally get half way the solution is hard to solve (but oh what fun!).And lastly, it just looks cool, and would make a nice gift or conversation piece on your coffee table.Has an enjoyable solution and I highly recommend this puzzle

These are awesome puzzles. I am 33 years old and have been addicted to these. I am new to playing with puzzles like this and this one took me about 45min to an hour to solve. Took me another 30 minutes to take it apart and do it again. None of my coworkers have been able to figure it out yet. Just playing with it in person seemed intimidating to me. There are not hardly any obvious moving parts and you have to really work to get some progress done. If you have done lots of these then it may not be as challenging, but for someone new to this hobby I find it enjoyable. I also find that these types of puzzles are good for stress or anxiety. It is really hard to focus on something else when you get into these.

A cool puzzle but a bit too easy for the rating. Had it solved backward and forward inside of about 20 minutes. Was expecting it to be a bit larger too, the donuts are quite small.

The design of this puzzle is wonderful and sleek. Solving it isn't very fun because most of the movement happens only when it's solved and not in the process of picking it apart. It's kinda unfulfilling to have it just suddenly come apart and then have to put back. I feel like it misses the middle stage of fiddling because it has only 2 stages: open and closed.This is all personal preference but I enjoy a puzzle that shows or at least feels like it has some steps to its progress. Though this isn't easy, it is kind of boring in its solving. Putting it back together is a complete pain in the ass and doesn't really feel "clever".

The puzzle is beautiful and fun, but after it is solved the continuous times it gets lose and very obvious to solve. It does make a nice puzzle decoration piece.

Maybe my fingers are too big, but the surfaces are pretty slick and not easy to hold on to. It's not a particularly difficult puzzle to solve, but the pieces slide about too much when putting it back together. Perhaps I'm doing it wrong, but I feel like I need a third hand to handle it.
