Loved this cute story. Hope there is more to come from Kim!
First of all, I've read Skinny Bitch (a few times...) and love it, which is why I purchased this novel. However, while reading the first few pages of the book I was thinking, "this is so stupid!" and I put it down. Out of boredom, I started reading it again. I was *so* glad once the book moved past the "butter incident!" This part of the book (why she was fired) could have been juicier and more believable. Once that part was over, which wasn't too long, the writer let us get to know the characters and I really started enjoying this book! I designated the treadmill as my spot to read this book, and as the pages went by, the story became more compelling and I eventually just couldn't put it down. As other reviewers have stated, it's a light and easy read. Definitely "Chick Lit."In my opinion, this was a good story and very well written. I liked that there were multiple plot lines and a cute/ quirky supporting cast. Perhaps most of all, I liked that the heroine was a woman with strong convictions, who really believed in herself. I'm close to the age of the character and while I realize this isn't classic literature here, or a self help book, I found it somewhat inspiring! The lovable qualities of Clementine reminded me to believe in myself, value my friends, think outside of the box, and to stand up for what I believe in.On a critical note, I feel that the book was somewhat inappropriately titled, because I'm not convinced the Clementine ever was *truly* in love. This story was more about the heroine finding her way in life, refusing to take "no" for an answer, developing self-awareness, and maintaining close friendships. This book isn't for everyone. If you don't like the "Chick Lit" genre, move on. This is a fun book to read. A nice escape from everyday life.Aside from loving the original Skinny Bitch book, I really didn't know much about the author, Kim Barnouin. I read a bit about her and it appears this is her first novel. I hope she comes out with another and I hope it's just as good as this one.

skinny bitch reader in love! (with this book)
I originally bought this book because I wanted cupcakes. Or maybe it was cookies. I'm familiar with the Skinny Bitch series but wasn't sure what this would be like. I was pleasantly surprised, and ended up reading this book in one weekend! It kept me on my toes and drawn in, was an easy fun read. Definitely recommend to others, vegan or not!

Loved this
This is such fun and the food will make you wish you could have some, and I'm not a vegan. Chef Clementine is a great character and this book made me happy, we all need good escape, now more than ever.

Fun read
I spent a lovely afternoon reading this book. It's not spectacular so I can't give it 5 stars, but it is a fun, witty read that pushes the edge of 4 stars into 5.I will be honest and admit the romance, while enjoyable enough, was my least favorite part. Instead I loved the details of Clem forging her new business and friendships. That's what made the book so fun and different for me.

Good first book
Kind of predictable, but a good read. Not many vegan main characters in books, so this was refreshing. Would be a good beach book. Love Kim's cookbooks too!
