Alpine X409-WRA-JK 9-Inch Weather-Resistant Mech-Less Navigation System with Off-Road Mode for 2011-2018 Jeep® Wrangler

I watched the Alpine install video on YouTube and had “0” issues putting it in. There were a few plugs left unused, that the video had, but no worries. The system is great and, so far, everything is as advertised. I had a Service Engine light come on and thanks to the OBD-2 plug for “Off-Road” function on the radio, I was able to view the code right away! Freaking awesome! Highly recommend. 2017 JK Rubicon.

Get used to silence with this head unit because it never works. I have been buying Alpine products for 32 years since I was 16 and this is the worst product yet and unfortunately the most I've ever spent on a head unit. Takes about 45 seconds to boot up. Doesn't automatically sync to my phone until a question pops up asking "Primary Bluetooth device not found within range. Reconnect?" If I choose OK, nothing happens. If I choose cancel, it eventually connects with my phone. If I'm lucky, music will then play at that point, but most of the time music is tracking on the screen but no sound comes though speakers. Also when I'm lucky enough to very inconsistently hear music, it cuts out and restarts about 13 times. Tried all troubleshooting tips, nothing works, I was likely sold a $2700 boat anchor. Apple car play never works either. The worst part of all this is I paid over $600 to have this custom installed in my dash. You have to a piece of your jeep dash cut out to accommodate this. So disappointed.

Great sound and features set. Installation seems complicated, but take your time and it is quite easy.Wiring underneath radio is a bit of a rats nest but no big deal.Negative: Startup time is very slow, and takes roughly ~18s from power on for everything to be available. Luckily, rear-view becomes available much faster.Negative: room between wiper control stalk and new restyle panel is much reduced, so folks with big hands will rub on the panel some.

This is an awesome upgrade. Tons of features. You will not be disappointed with this purchase!!!

Terrible radio for the money. Already dead pixel in screen. Paid a shop $800. And now going to pay another $800 to swap out and reinstall. Never again with alpine
