How did I make it without one?
About six months ago, I started buying fresh garlic and quickly became addicted to the flavor. What I was not at all addicted to, was the work involved in peeling and chopping the garlic up. I found it easiest for me to do everything in one big go, so that I had the garlic in the refrigerator ready to use. While it was convenient for future use, it kind of sucked to peel/chop it all up.Finally, I broke down and decided to splurge on a garlic press. I know you guys don't know me, but if you did, you'd know this was a big decision for me. Because I hate "unitasker" items. (Items that perform very limited functions. Things like "hotdog slicers", electric mac & cheese makers, and cheese melting domes. <--Yup, that's a real thing.)Ultimately, I gave in and scoured Amazon for the "right" garlic press. (Basically, one that looked sturdy and wasn't so expensive that if I wanted to donate it, I would feel guilty.)This thing is worth it's weight in gold. It's a very heavy stainless steel, nice to hold (even my husband will help now!) And I have to admit it is very easy to clean. The other huge plus is that I don't have to be meticulous about peeling individual cloves now - I just stuff them in here and crunch 'em up. I am quite fond of this little doo-dad, and even though I don't expect myself to dash out and buy a hotdog slicer anytime soon, I'm glad I made the choice to buy this garlic press.

Sturdy, hangable, easy to clean.
This is a nice, sturdy garlic press, and a nice bonus that it comes with a garlic peeler.I previously used an OXO one and this one already is much better. I feel I get as much of the garlic minced as possible. No removing of parts needed for cleaning as the three components fan out, so it is very easy to clean. Ironically when it first arrived it was dirty, (took picture after I had wiped most off). Obviously you have to wash before first use, but it's not a great feeling to open your purchase and find black dirt on it, seemed like grease. Anyway apart from that initial :-( it is a good product. I love that it has two metal loops at the bottom so it can hang from a utility hook. The seller also provides some recipes which was a nice touch.

Pain to clean. Clunky to use.
My previous garlic press had a mechanism for removing the garlic that made cleaning it simple. The little spikes on that mechanism started to break off after many years, so I bought a new press. What a mistake. This does not have a cleaning mechanism and the three parts to the press make it really annoying to clean.

Best garlic press for LARGE garlic cloves!
Works perfectly, cleans easily. You can put an unpeeled garlic clove in it and have perfect garlic come squeezed out.I even bought elephant garlic which is basically very large bulbes made of huge cloves and i didnt have to chop them up before pressing them into paste! The reservoir in this thing is so large that an elephant garlic clove fit in it! Thats maybe 4 normal garlic cloves? They even give you a garlic peeler. Its a black silicone looking tube. You put a clove in it and role it back and forth on your counter until all the garlic peel comes off.Its dishwasher safe, ive put it through mine several times and it still looks and works like new!Worth the money if you love garlic, love making sauces, soups, cokking in general. Its made a few of my recipes a lot simpler.

I bought this after my last garlic press, which had plastic parts, broke. So far I like the ergonomic design (rounded handles make it more comfortable to grip). You can really only put one clove in the basket at a time, which is a minor bummer. However, I like how easy it is to "press" the garlic. My only gripe is that the garlic comes out rather clumpy. You have to separate all the little bits as the garlic really comes out in one clump and is kind of stringy. Hard to describe--but it isn't truly "minced garlic." Some effort required to "tear" apart the clump into smaller bits. Overall though I am pleased because the product seems sturdy, is easy to clean, and is saving me time.

Very happy with this purchase! Will recommend it to others!
I was happy with this garlic press from the moment I opened it. Well constructed out of high end materials, solid, and, lots of weight behind it.I found that it did a great job pressing garlic, but also garlic that had been previously frozen. Pressing (not just fresh), garlic is especially a mark of a great press.Only thing I am not used too, is the 'press box, screen section with the holes', it swings in the way on this design. I found that after a few presses, I was starting to get used to the swing away design of the box, and, it might aid in cleaning the device. I previously owned a 'Pampered Chef', brand that just broke, after several years of use, this feels stronger, and, is pretty to look at as well!

I never knew how cheap and flimsy my old garlic press was until I tried THIS one! What an amazingly awesome difference. I love that the entire unit is connected. There is no little basket that falls out and gets lost. The handles are sturdy and easy to grip. .. even with my arthritis. There is no *juicing*of the cloves that can take place with cheaper models. And what a great little bonus the peeler is! (Although, there was a learning curve with that one)Clean up was a breeze! I rinsed it in soapy water, rubbed it a little with my finger and done!I couldn't be happier with my new toy! Look out summer marinades, here comes the garlic!

this one has by far been the best and quality
This is the third garlic press I've had to purchase, and I'm sure it will be the last because this one is built to last! Although the least expensive of the others I've purchased, this one has by far been the best and quality. The unit is all one piece, it does not have the removable basket that has been a problem for me in the past. It is very sturdy and does a really nice job. It also includes a robber garlic clove roller that helps to easily remove the skins. I would recommend this to anybody who wants to purchase a reasonably price great quality garlic press. Excellent value for the money spent. No issues with the vendor, smooth transaction.
