From the moment I saw this I knew that I had to add it to my collection for a number of reasons. The main one was the stylish 50's American car look but I also wanted a portable unit with stereo sound. I wasn't disappointed in respect of these and I couldn't believe how light it was - making it ideal for days out or moving around the house. The sound quality is superb and I only need it on volume level 5 (out of about 16) for a few stations. It has 2 alarms and a more important feature for me - a sleep function allowing up to 90 minutes before it switches itself off. The 'Info' button is really useful too as it shows signal strength, whether the station is DAB or DAB+ and the battery level remaining if you're using it on the 4 x AA batteries (from 100 being max. strength).I have deducted a star as it doesn't seem to like rechargeable batteries. It does accept them - eventually - but there is a big delay for it to recognise them. There are too many great features from a very reasonably priced unit for me not to recommend it though.

The minute l opened the packaging and took it out l knew it was perfect for my new house. Yes its retro in style which is the look l wanted + it goes well with my kettle, toaster and toaster and I'm just thrilled with its stylish looksNow the not so good bits, l found the user instructions difficult to fully understand. The scanning for stations was easy but how to keep the ones you want l still haven't worked out, so l just using the station / channel l use most by putting it off and on with standby knob. To my ears it very fit for the purpose, but I'm sure it will not be so others no matter how well your ears work. Would l buy it again? a definite yes if l can fathom out the storing and recalling the channels l like

From reading other {mainly excellent) reviews, the Audible Fidelity DAB radio certainly has lived up to expectations. The speakers are very good for such a compact radio. It is very light and easily transported around the house. The four AA batteries seem to have a good life –a battery-life indicator is located within ‘Info’- and this transportability is very useful. Alternatively, plugging into a mains socket is straightforward. My only irritation is the somewhat thin and unwieldy wire attached to the mains connector. It can get a little tangled but seems quite robust. Setting up the pre-sets can be a little frustrating at first, but having got the hang of it….. all OK. The design is excellent. I was so pleased I bought another!
