ACCA: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]

Cool stuff
It starts off feeling like a slice of life anime until the tone starts to shift to political intrigue then to suspense. All around a pretty good self contained show

A humble and practical main character calmly takes one step at a time.
No complaints. The show delivers on what it starts and is a gem at doing so. Great characters, great plot and madhouse visuals.

Unexpected find
Jean Otus is a member of ACCA, a government organization tasked with supervising the 13 wards. Despite his laid back attitude and lavish smoking habit, Jean is crafty enough to dig up the truth despite the manipulations of those around him.I stumbled across a recommendation for this show in a review for another show and figured I should give it a shot, even though I couldn't quite muster up the enthusiasm for it. Glad I did! It starts out rather low key, but ended up an exciting political thriller/mystery. The characters were fun and well developed into actual people (sometimes rare for anime...) and the world was interesting. The 13 wards are like different countries cut from different settings. The story concludes with the show, and further research shows the manga was only 6 volumes, so it is all finished (I like finished things, so this is a bonus for me).I watched the show on Crunchyroll, but I liked it enough I will buy the DVDs.
