Engineering Mathematics (Volume 1) Seventh Edition

This is a great book for review and reference. If you are looking for proofs and theorems, then this is not the book for you. If you are looking to review engineering mathematics in an easily understandable format, then this is the book for you.The book is organized into programmes or mini chapters. Each programme covers a specific topic. The author provides a brief explanation of the concept involved and then worked examples. You then have the opportunity to work a problem, and then a detailed solution is provided right away.The writing is clear and concise. Each programme is a condensed yet powerful presentation of the basic concepts. The book covers a broad range of topics, but there are some advanced topics that are not included.In summary, I highly recommend this book.

I am the guy did not pay attention in HS. Now I am attempting to complete my BSEE and I find this book to be a real help getting up to speed in some of the more difficult aspects of TRIG, CALC, etc...

Great book. Mostly examples instead of lame theory and lengthy proofs. Easy to learn from. Downside is there are no solutions manuals to this book. I rented the book and liked it so much I bought it.

Best Math book I have ever purchased. The pedagogical style is simply perfect. I have no idea why more books aren't written like this. Easy to follow, sequential, and containing ample worked solutions for every step. Absolutely fantastic.

It's according to my expectation

I would have given this book 5 stars but for two things: There are errors and no errata to correct them.I returned to college two years ago to finish a degree. I finished high school more than 20 years ago and bought the book as a review/refresher product, and secondarily as a guide for more advanced mathematics that I have not yet learned. I'm not fond of math, but it is a fundamental part of my new career field.Pros:- Absolutely spectacular breadth of coverage- Some different approaches from what I was taught in school. Some of these approaches have provided additional insight.- Very clear, step-by-step explanations walk you through each problem- Plenty of practice problems with solutionsHowever, I keep finding errors. They're not on every page, but they're there, and that's a very bad thing for readers trying to review and learn additional mathematics. I could find no errata on the publisher's companion website. I've been running into errors a lot lately, reading computer science and mathematics texts, and it's very frustrating. I was a different kind of engineer in the Army, and we made it a high priority to get things right, the first time. I wish the publishing world would pick up on the practice.

A great book, if you are a beginner student or already an engineer, this book is must-have. No complains about it whatsoever.The copy I bought was marked as "very good" but my front cover was folded so it shouldnt have been qualified more than "Good", although the text inside is intact.

I found this book very satisfying. Lots of examples , the step by step method makes it very easy to learn.If you are looking just for intuition, you should read other books as well.

The best book on Mathematics ever! Starts from simple concepts to make sure the reader has a firm grip on the fundamentals and then proceeds to higher Engineering Mathematics.

Testo rivolto sia agli studenti che a chiunque abbia già delle basi (basta aver frequentato le scuole superiori, anche 20 anni fa e con scarsi risultati) e cerca un testo illuminante che spieghi in maniera semplice e chiara argomenti che spaziano dall'aritmetica all'analisi matematica, passando per algebra, trigonometria, ecc. Affronta anche argomenti collaterali o più avanzati come algebra lineare, calcolo delle probabilità e statistica ma non in maniera approfondita. Dunque, se si volessero approfondire questi ultimi argomenti, sarebbe consigliato fare riferimento ad altre risorse aggiuntive.Davvero impressionante la chiarezza espositiva. Ti fa capire davvero le cose e lo fa in maniera semplice, con immagini, tanti esempi pratici ed esercizi svolti, senza quindi passare forzatamente per dimostrazioni astruse ed astratte. Non per puristi della formalità dunque.
