Be sure to snug the center bolt a little to take up some slack
I think they are too pricy for what they are, but isn't every marine product? if you already have downriggers that don't swivel this is an easy way to add one without buying a riser with a swivel built into it.

Good and bad
So this is an excellent swivel base and is compatible with Cannon downriggers however it is a gunnel mount. It is not compatible with Cannon rail or gimbal mounts unless you drill holes to make it fit. In my case I am rail mounting and I can not drill holes as they would be directly above the bolts that attach the mount to the rail with no room to feed bolts through. That is only reason I am giving it 3 stars as the seller told me it was compatible.
