Fast and reliable
This enclosure is being used as an external backup drive for my NAS system. It is very small and compact, yet solid. The entire enclosure is made from aluminum, and is great for heat dissipation, durability and SSD protection. SSD drive installation was a snap. Just remove 2 screws, remove the board, install the SSD and secure with the included screws, and reverse the steps. I took about 5 minutes. I connected the enclosure with the included USB-C cable, formatted, and configured my NAS to use it as the backup drive. I manually initiated the first back up. I have around 370 GB of diverse office data. I was able to watch the progress, and my NAS interface showed a data transfer rate average of about 450 MB/s. That is so much faster than my old mechanical hard drive that never did more than 115MB/s. I am so impressed with this enclosure. It squeezed almost every bit of speed out of my SATA SSD drive possible. This will run 24/7, and with this amount of speed, an incremental backup will take a couple of seconds. So this enclosure will have light work being so fast. It is a solid performing enclosure that is also well built, making it a great value for the price. I give it 5 stars.

Cheap and easy to use.
I bought this product to clone my laptops SSD from a small capacity 128GB boot drive to a 500GB.It was easy to understand the install instructions and to assemble the drive housing. I used the included cloning software from Acronis and It worked flawlessly. The materials used in making this product was sufficient and was well made. If needed, I would buy this product again.

durable metal enclosure
I purchased this enclosure along with one for NVMe to transfer data and test drives. The photo instructions are not quite as easy to understand as the ones provided in the other case, but they exist (my first purchase had supplies but no instructions). All the components are there, including extra screws, which are so tiny you are guaranteed to drop them, a cheap screwdriver you can use if you absolutely have to...although I wouldn't.1. Insert the m.2 msata drive. Place a brass spacer between it and the circuit board. There is a groove in the spacer to hold the drive in place and reduce heat. Use a silver screw and screw upward from the bottom after you manage to slide the drive into the groove in the grommet.2. Slide the circuit board into the case and use the black thin screws to screw on the edge panels. For accessibility, this is not the easiest case if you have any hand or eye problems. The cable is USB-C to USB-A with an extra adapter if you need to plug it into a USB-C slot. I connected it to an updated Windows 10 desktop and noted that SMART support was unavailable, but i don't know if the drive itself or the adapter is at fault. CrystalDiskMark was able to work on it. It will be limited to SATA speeds due to the nature of the m.2 support.

Much nicer enclosure than was expecting
I needed an enclosure so I can recycle a smaller/old M2 2280 MSATA drive for use with my Android Head Unit in my car. I didn't want to spend a whole lot on one. I saw this unit and it looked like it would fit my needs and wan't horribly expensive or look too cheaply made.I got it last night and have to say the enclosure itself was of much better built quality than I had been expecting. I only have one grumble about the unit and one concern at this point. My grumble is that the print on the instruction flyer is so small I couldn't read it. I had to break out my phone to take a picture so I could zoom in to read the assembly info. Not a deal breaker, mind you. Had I sat and fiddled a while I would have eventually got it installed right. But since I wanted to do it once and right the first time the small print irked me.My only real concern with the unit is with the included cable. Compared to my phones and other USB cables it just doesn't feel as nicely made/sturdy. I plugged into my computer a few times and it does works great. In my use case it's going into my glove box and will rarely be unplugged/moved about, so probably never an issue. But, if I was taking it with me everywhere and plugging/unplugging a lot, I would probably be more concerned about how long it would hold up. But even if it does fail, decent USB C to A or C to C cables aren't horribly expensive now-a-days.Again nice enclosure. If I need another, will definitely get another one of these.

Works great. Very impressed!
I upgraded to a higher capacity SSD in my laptop, and needed an external SATA housing to use the old one as additional storage. I needed something cheap and functional, and I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality and performance! The aluminum housing is rigid and strong, it's actually got some weight to it, and the fins provide a certain amount of heat dissipation. I plugged it into my USB 3.1 Type A port, and my Dell actually booted from the external drive faster than when it was plugged into the internal PCIe slot. Cloning the drive to my new internal SSD (almost 230GB) took only a few minutes.

Good casing to add extra storage for M2 SSD
Bought this for a 1TB M.2 SSD pulled out from my previous laptop. The installation is very easy. The USB3 connection speed is good. Used it for a few months without any problems. Only downside is the USB3 cable very rigid. Wish it is slightly flexible.

Works as described
Works as described. Seems solid and rugged. Big bonus is that it comes with a small screwdriver to take the end screws off the case to insert the ssd.The only gripe is that the cord is quite short.Overall, happy with purchase

Good unit and it works great!
The unit is solid, I would never have to worry about simple drops from usual heights. The connection for the drive to the circuit board is also good. The stand-off for securing the drive can be slightly tricky, having arthritis in both hands made it more difficult than I would have liked. I would sadly not recommend this for someone in more advanced stages of arthritis.I would have preferred that one of the end plates be sealed to the casing and the other attached to the circuit board. Each little piece you have has the potential of becoming lost after all. That all said, once you have it all assembled it is like any other unformatted USB drive. Keep that in mind after you plug it into your computer, you will not see the drive until you open the applicable disk manager for your computer and format the unallocated space of the drive.

Excellent little unit
Plugged in an appropriate SSD card and bam, my NVidia shield has tons of storage with blazing fast speed.Tried the unit on Windows 10 and it worked excellently! One of the most inexpensive enclosures (at the time) and at that price I would purchase again!

"unplug the accessory using too much power to re-enable usb devices"
Tried on 5 different Macs, Intel and M1, didn't work. Or the drive wouldn't show up at all, or I would get the error: "unplug the accessory using too much power to re-enable usb devices".When I put the ssd in my OWC enclosure, the sdd would popup and all would be fine. Tried different connectors, different ports etc etc. Doesn't work for me. Purchased it September 30, 2020 and couldn't make it work then. Didn't have the time to try all the different scenario's. Now I have some free time and just couldn't make it work. Too bad, money wasted
