One of my favorite actors on all times. I have not seen this movie in over 30 years. Barbara is in my top 5 favorites. Now I own this classic ♥️

10 Stars and a young Jack Nicolson has a small part.

The incomparable Barbra at her comic and vocal best. Great comedy, songs, and costumes. And Jack Nicholson in a small part before he became a star.

Barbra glows in her flashback scenes. The scene at the banquet at the Brighton Pavillion where she wears the white turban encrusted with jewels is absolutely iconic. She aces all the songs as we have come to expect. The contemporary scenes are bit of a disappointment as is Yves Montand who is clearly trying is best with very poorly written material. The original Broadway musical had more songs and many of them are quite good. Too bad they cut them for the film. They did the same thing with Funny Girl, cut some great songs, but that's another review. There's enough here to enjoy, however...

Classic movie. Love Barbra Streisand. Very well done.

When I was a young girl, my older sister was a Barbra Streisand fan. I tagged along to movie matinees when I could. She was good to me, and usually let me. This was one of my all time favorites! I recently bought it, and enjoyed watching again and again. There is nothing typical about this movie.

バーブラがHello, Dolly!(ハロー・ドーリー！)とWhat's Up, Doc?(おかしなおかしな大追跡)の間に出演した作品。40年位前に東京12チャンネルで午前中に観て(吹き替え版)、SFっぽいコメディがとても面白く、先月「おかしなおかしな大追跡」を購入して、とても良かったので、本作も購入。色彩やファッションにサイケの要素が残っていて、かなり楽しめます。残念ながら、「おかしな…」ほどロケのシーンはなく、70年代初期の街並みはあまり見られませんが、主題歌の「On a Clear Day You Can See Forever」はバーブラの曲の中でも名曲のひとつだと思います。

Barbra Streisand is stunning in this fun filled film. Barbra plays a smoking addict with supernatural powers. She discovers she has lived many previous lives, and many lives to yet live. This film is one great reason to stay in with a big bowl of chocolate sweets and enjoy.

この時代の雰囲気と今に通じるファンタジーを感じる。心理学や超能力・予知などのアカデミックな裏づけと男と女の惹かれあう恋心の対比も面白い。イブモンヤン・バーバラみたいな役者さんはいまでもかっこいいと思うのですが。何よりアレンジでジャズのスタンダードになってしまった音楽「晴れた日に永遠が見える」は私たち誰もが感じる不思議な共感覚の存在に重いいたるのです。
