Very robust - using it for office devices
Used in a small business office where it powers a series of outlets installed in the walls. Printer, router, modem, phone, and a PC are powered by it. Run time when power out is around 90 minutes more than sufficient to finish your open work documents and perform a shut down of the applications. I estimate that on stand by for the PC only that it will run without power for 3 to 5 days. there is a fan that seems to run constantly, but the unit is inside a closet, so you only notice it if right on top of it.I would recommend it, delivered in a timely manner at an affordable price

Great Hardware - Software Useless
Best UPS I've ever owned. Had for 2+ months now and never had a problem. I test it weekly and it does what's expected and more.Software provided and on the website is just useless. Very basic and does not read acurately. If this is a deal breaker for you, definitely do not buy.If you don't need a UPS that communicates with your computer or you have a 3rd party software, then this is the UPS for you.UPDATED June 10th, 2013 -- Over 6 month of use and no problems with this UPS. Testing on a weekly basis and have never had it fail at all.

good deal, short lived
This unit was a much better value than what I could get at stores locally, but it croaked out about 14 months later

What? I can't hear you over the fan in this UPS!
Recently put into service. Works as a power backup. However the fan is LOUD and runs continuously (rather than at need/due to operating temperatures). Way louder than any of the computers it is protecting. Belongs in a room where people are not working. I'm going to have to take the thing apart and install a quieter fan to make it usable.

Ok but I returned it
This unit handles more wattage than most, however the software that they provide is from the 1990's. I had this unit about a week before returning it. The cost to benefit ratio wasn't where I wanted it to be. I used a Kill-o-watt to measure my computer's usage and this was overkill for a PC with a 1,000 watt power supply. This unit has ok build qualities and would probably work best in a commercial setting where demands can fluctuate rapidly. It does come with a 20amp to 15amp plug adapter which I'd say isn't safe to use unless you KNOW you will never exceed 15amp draws.

Great product
I purchased the battery backup about week ago. I live in California where power outages happen frequently. Recently, I experienced a power outage which render my electronic devices, TV, and computer useless. I think we can all agree that life nowadays without your electronic devices, TV or computer is not fun.A co-worker who recently purchased this exact unit recommended this product. I was skeptical at first but for a cheap price of around $50 bucks, I said why not. If anything, it’s Amazon and the return process is painless. The package arrived undamaged and in a timely manner. The unit seems sturdy and well built. I tested the unit on my TV and computer. It seems to be an excellent unit if you are looking for a battery backup. There are 6 outlets, which is more than what I needed. I like to have extra outlet just in case there are additional items I need to power on. The battery was easy to use.So far so good. If you experience power outages or need a battery backup for emergencies, this unit will do its job. I will post another review if something goes bad.

Set it and forget it.
I run several web servers that need dependable power and I bought 3 of these and then 2 more. Thwy offer robust power backup at a price point that gives great value. I will be buying more of them.

works and works very well
didn't buy mine from amazon but as for the product, it works and it works very well.lots of power flickers where I am and the only time this hasn't worked was when the batteries die, which do only last so long.I have had my Maruson PRO-2000ALCD 2000VA/1200W for 8 years now with 2 battery replacements over the years. It powers an Alienware gaming machine that has a high rated power supply that needs a top ups.

Horrible. I hate it.
I've had this Maruson PRO UPS for a few months. This device is no better than a multi-pronged extension chord. It's a POC.Here's what always happens when the lights flicker, which has happened twice this winter (2012-2013).It's stormy outside. The lights flicker, go off for a few seconds, then come back on again. One second after the first flicker, the UPS fails and makes a gawdawful long beeeeep that I can only stop by unplugging the damn thing from the wall. The Maruson also fails inexplicably for no reason. Broad daylight, beautiful day. Computer goes dark, and beeeeeeeeep.I am using this UPS well under its rated load. A new iMac and a USB drive is all I've plugged-in. It's all I dare plug in.ALSO: Amazon is no help in returning this item, presumably because of the toxic materials, batteries, etc it contains. So it's a dumb-buy, and doubly dumb to but this from Amazon.Edit on June 2, 2013: There's more.I contacted Maruson about replacing this clearly defective unit. I explained the issues, complete with photos. Several days later I finaly got a reply from Mr Manuel Rosales.Mr Rosales had me complete a bunch of paperwork for him. Then Mr Rosales then informs me that the unit was damaged in shipping (there is no evidence whatsoever of this on the box, or on the unit) and that I have no recourse but to ship it back at my expense both ways for repairs. This is completely unacceptable behavior from a vendor and I am far from satisfied with how this is all playing out. Stay tuned.
