San Diego Hat Company Women's Ribbon Large Brim Hat

AMAZING hat, amazing quality, probably the best hat I own now. The fabric is strong but the texture is soft to the touch, and it looks to be of excellent quality. The hat can be folded or wrapped and tossed inside your bag or luggage, and it springs back to its shape and allows you to change the shape of the rim to whatever your preference, something I absolutely love. It has UV rays protection (50) which makes it better than regular sun hats. It looks gorgeous on, very stylish, classy and beautiful, absolutely beautiful. BUT, this is NOT a “One Size fits all”, it’s about a size Small/Medium in hats, I wear size Medium in other brands (my head circumference around the forehead is 23 inches) and this fits tight, but I love it so much that I will keep it. So, if you have a large head, this won’t fit you.

I have always looked terrible in hats, but I can't tolerate a lot of sun and spend quite a bit of time outdoors. The only solution is to find the perfect hat -- and this is it!I was reluctant to order a hat by internet, because when I try them on they almost never look even close to okay, but this was a great choice. It stays on my head through the high winds of walking on the beach near my home, and protects me 100% from the glaring sun during long and happy days of outdoor activities. The brim is very large, and though I am only 5'1" tall, the hat does not overpower me, because the brim adjusts easily to any angle, up or down or anywhere in between, and stays where you put it, through wind, rain and long wearing.Best of all, I roll this hat up and keep it in my backpack in the car when I'm not adventuring outdoors. It can sit literally for months fully rolled up, and when put on it looks beautiful immediately, adjusting to any shape and keeping it until I change it.I love the black, since this is the color I wear most, but would consider ordering additional colors. In the rain, the hat gives a feeling of invulnerability, because it repels the water and keeps head and shoulders dry. I have not machine washed it, but have used a washcloth to keep the surface fresh.I love this hat.

Lovely wide brimmed hat. Keeps the sun off your face, neck and shoulders. Perfect for traveling! I wore mine in a hot dusty climate for 7 days! It looked a bit worse for the wear when I got home. I threw it in the washing machine and it's good to go ready for its next adventure!

I purchased this hat in two colors: the beige/white and the beige. It is important to note that the hat is made from tightly sewn grosgrain ribbon. This hat fits well with a small amount of stretch, holds its shape beautifully and has an added bonus of being foldable so it packs extremely well. It is flattering (I have an oval shaped face with long straight, but full, hair to my mid-back and fringe bangs. When I let my hair go wavy the hat still looks good. On hot days this hat is still comfortable, the ribbon must ventilate somewhat, and my head doesn't get too hot inside.The only downside to this hat, in my opinion is the color. My hair is very dark brown, so I don't like wearing black hats. The white hat is wonderful, but seems to me a summer color choice. The beige I purchased thinking it would be like a natural wheat color, and it is truly a flat crayon beige. I kept it because it's the most flexible of the three neutrals for me, but it would be nice if the color looked more like it does online than in person.

This is a great hat, especially for the price. While it's not high end fashion it's reasonably stylish and looks good while giving wonderful sun coverage. The brim is large enough so you don't really need sunblock for shorter outings (I still put it on for a day at the beach). It. Also covers the back of your neck completely. I paired it with a coolibar sun shirt and needed to use very little sunblock during a week at the beach. I'm concerned about the chemicals in sunblock and the safer ones are very expensive. While it was a bit of money upfront in a year the shirt and hat will have paid for themselves in sunblock saved.The hat itself fits me well and I'd say I have an average head size for a woman. Most hats fit me fine. While I wouldn't call it snug it certainly isn't loose. This might not be best if you're looking for a cool, breezy hat for gardening but it's great if you're walking around or an a windy beach.Just an all around nice hat at a good price.

The hat is just too small, but I like everything else about it. I wear a women's medium in hats, and other San Diego brand ribbon hats have fit a little loose; which I prefer so I don't get hat hair and have some air circulation. This hat is not just snug, it's tight enough to be uncomfortable. Having bought multiple hats of the brand, I thought sizing would be consistent. And I tried loosening the "adjustable ribbon", it made no difference.Otherwise it's exactly what I wanted: wide brim that is shape-able and stands out straight if you want (I want!). UV protection for scalp and face. Wide range of colors. Suitable for casual beach or nice parties. Lightweight with some stretch. So cute on me. But it would completely flatten my hair, give me a headache and mess up and sunscreen or makeup I have on- immediately. So it's useless unless you have an unusually small head.

I was on the fence about this hat because of the other reviewers saying that this hat runs small. I decided to get one when it went on sale and I’m so glad I did. It fits my head perfect and is very lightweight. I’m not sure about my head measurements other than that my head tends to be on the smaller side. If you have an average to larger side head this hat is NOT for you. It is easily stored and reshapes quickly when worn. In the sun it has excellent coverage. Overall, very happy with my purchase…bought another color.

Cute hat, great structure. I wasn't fond of the bow/ribbon so I cut it off. I like the minimal look. Would be awesome if it had a cord!
