Microcontroller Engineering with MSP432: Fundamentals and Applications

I’ve used this for about a month now. We are using the MSP432 for a couple classes and I bought this book to supplement. It is very clear and well written. The code in the book looks great. It is worth having for some clarity and as a go-to.My instructor also purchased once he found out I was getting it. There was supposed to be ALL the code and more available for instructors that they could then download.My instructor found this was not the case. We are having to develop everything from scratch and struggling through that process. It really has held us back in things. But glad to at least have a decent book.

Great book, straight to the point explanations.

This book is mainly designed for college students who take the embedded controls or intelligent controls course; it targets the ones who want to learn both fundamental knowledge and practical techniques in microcontrollers in various applications. The book provides a detailed description about the practical considerations and applications in embedded designing and programming using Keil ARM-MDK µVersion5 with practical examples and detailed explanations.More importantly, this book provides a complete set of packages, including hardware packages (MSP432P401R LaunchPad EVB, EduBASE ARM Trainer) and software packages (SP432 firmware and tools library, Keil ARM-MDK µVer 5). Moreover, over 20 class projects and over 40 lab projects with detailed illustrations are provided, which help readers to understand the key techniques on MSP432 MCU. Homework, solutions, as well as Power Point Teaching slides are available for each chapter, which may be helpful for instructors.

Excellent support matériel (CRC Press), avec du papier "acide free" et tellement épais qu'on fait facilement du bruit en tournant les pages. La reliure est de qualité de celles qui dure 50 ans ou plus, sans perdre de page. L'auteur est définitivement qualifié, une sommité dans le domaine, malheureusement, son style est parfois brouillon et désarçonnant. Il y a même un manque de relecture évident par endroit: (page 32, dernier paragraphe de la section 2.3.4) "Before we can continue to discuss the GPIO programming process, let's first take a look at the system clock since this is an important component in the MCU system." Eh bien, le livre continue en parlant de "GPIO programming" et n'aborde le "system clock" qu'en page ... 52. On est parfois étonné, perdu, de savoir "mais où donc en s'en va", tellement le plan de la discussion semble s'égarer sur les détails alors que la présentation est attendue être une vue, un aperçu, à 100 km de distance. Mais heureusement, l'auteur se reprend, encore une fois, en général, pour revenir à quelque chose de plus palatable. Déconseillé comme premier livre, mais possiblement un "must have" pour tous ceux qui veulent quelque chose de plus approfondi.
