Good product
These are really nice hiking shoes and a super comfortable fit. Very durable and really low price for what you are getting! Thanks!

Moabs are one of many Merrell shoe, walkers, boots. This one is beyond expectations.
This is my 5th or 6th set of Merrills. So with that said, the reader can see what I think about them. While not waterproof, they stand up to the rain nicely - there are waterproof Merrills. Dirty? Take out the shoe strings and throw them in the wash. They'll come out looking almost new.I have a foot that is a bit wide and these fit perfectly, but if your foot is narrow, don't be afraid to get these. Right now, I own three pairs: the one pictured here, one of the original Moab colors and one for working around the yard. I love the ones pictured here because they are a gorgeous light green. My wife can vouch for Merrills - man or woman, you can't go wrong with any one of the Merrill family of walkers, hikers.Merrills used to have a thin collar at the heel, and after a lot of wear, it would begin to tear. The new ones don't do that.If you're looking for a pair of walkers that look great on your feet, are comfortable and will last, get these.

Not too hot for summer!
I'm a size 8-8.5 in women's but I got these in black in size 7 (which is equivalent to 8.5 women's) b/c I usually like to go up half a size in Merrell's hiking shoes (as opposed to their trail running shoes). These fit exactly the same as an 8.5 in women's. I read more than a few reviews that claimed these shoes run small and instructed people to go up at least half a size, but I would only do that if you're on the edge of your size (i tend to be in certain styles of Merrell's shoes), have wide feet, or plan to use inserts.I was worried these would be too hot for summer but they're fine! We've had a bad heatwave the past 2 weeks and I don't find them particularly hot. I'm really glad I didn't get the "vent" version because I hike every day with my dog and am really hard on my hiking shoes (I usually need a new pair every 3-6 months, no matter the brand). I've owned a lot of different Merrell hiking shoes at this point (i usually just buy what's on sale) so I know I'd tear up the "vent" fabric pretty quick on the vent version of these shoes. These shoes are heavy hiking shoes. They're still "sneakers" instead of boots, but they're probably the heaviest pair of hiking shoes I've ever owned (i never wear actual hiking boots). I was surprised by how bouncy they still feel though! I guess that's one of the reasons they're so comfortable; i've had hard hiking shoes and these definitely aren't hard! You could run in them, but if you're a runner Merrell's actually makes a lot of different trail running shoes that would be better for that.I've been hiking in them for the past month and my only complaint so far is the suede fabric: it's such a magnet for dirt and dust! I got them in the black/gray but ever since the first time I wore them they've been covered with dusty dirt. No matter how much or how often I beat the dirt out of them they will basically always be tannish brown (the same color of the dirt where I hike). It's bad enough that dust is always puffing out of them when I undo the laces. If you care about having a visible layer of dirt/dust on your shoes you might want to get them close to the color of the ground where you hike (although I suppose this could be different for people who don't live in a dry climate like i do?).I plan to update when these shoes crap out on me. I'm curious to see how long the vibram soles last b/c I remember it only took me 3 months to wear completely through the last pair of shoes I had with "vibram" soles (probably 5+ yrs ago--back when Merrells was supposedly higher quality). Of course these days I like to use shoe goo before it gets to that point, but we'll see how long it takes before i have to start smearing shoe goo on the bottoms to keep them from wearing all the way through.UPDATE: I just raised my rating to 5 stars because I've been wearing these every other day since I bought them (so about the equivalent of 6 months) and they've held up WAY better than expected! Most other hiking shoes (even of this same brand) would be trashed by now, yet I haven't even had to use shoe goo on them yet because the soles aren't worn through even a little. The treads are definitely getting worn and there's a tear in the tongue of one shoe, but neither of these things have created any problems yet (they don't even smell bad yet!). I'm definitely going to stick with this brand and model from now on. I think it helps that I never wore them in the rain (I've noticed that every time I wear a pair of hiking shoes in the rain they seem to wear down really fast afterwards so now I only wear hiking shoes that I hate when it rains, which is easy considering it rarely rains here).

These ARE NOT great out of the box.
I bought these because of the great luck I've had with the last pair of Merrells I bought nearly 8 years ago. Now THOSE were comfortable out of the box. Sanuks and Hey Dudes are comfortable out of the box... These are the OJ of footwear. The footbed is hard as a rock and the Vibram outer sole is stiff and not pliable. Wore them for a 4 hour half work day and thought I was gonna die. It took seemingly endless 2-3 hour stints to get them to the point they are today. They do get better. The only thing I could do to make them bearable was to switch the removable insoles with a set from a new pair of Hey Dudes. Remarkably the switch made both shoes better.I've now got about 40 or so hours of actually standing/walking time in them. They have softened up about 50% but still now what I'd consider a truly comfortable shoe. I wear mine on heavy rain days because unlike Sanuks and Hey Dudes, the chunky Vibram soles keep my feet dry above the parking lot puddles at work. They seem to breath well and have a roomy toe box. Excellent traction btw.Seems like a quality shoe, but whoever says they're comfortable out of the box either has nerve damage or feet made of steel. Either way just be prepared for a month long break in of an hour or two a day.

Great light hiking boots!
Top-notch choice for any outdoor enthusiast. These boots offer exceptional comfort and support, making them perfect for long hikes. The waterproof feature keeps my feet dry in wet conditions, while the breathable mesh lining ensures they stay cool. The sturdy construction and durable materials give me confidence on rough terrains. Additionally, the traction is excellent, providing a secure grip on various surfaces. Overall, the Moab 2 WP Hiking Boot combines functionality, comfort, and durability, making it a reliable companion for any adventure. Highly recommended!

Outstanding trail shoes
It's been a while since I have purchased any hiking shoes or boots, but things have clearly continued to improve since my old clunky hikers or Army boots. I purchased these for a day of like hiking at Shades State park, and thy were outstanding. I have a WIDE foot (3E-4E) and my main issue is always width, and I am pleased to say that the wides were indeed wide enough for me. Not too wide that I had any sliding - just right. And my secondary issue is that I wear custom orthotics, and although it looked like they might not fit right, they actually dropped right in when the insoles were removed. This is an outstanding hiker for the moderate trail that I was on, as well as wearing around town the rest of the day - very comfortable. I didn't get a chance to test their waterproofness or performance on any rugged trails, although I am sure they will.Recommended.
